In May, I moved to a town that does not have a Lady of America fitness center. Canceling my membership has been a hastle. They requested that I send them verfication that I had moved. I fax the information just like they asked. They called me and said they recieved the information and that I owed them a % based on what was left on my contract. I made a payment over the phone thinking it was handled. To accomplish this took several months. Then on last months bank statement I noticed they were charging me a monthly membership charge. I called them and they said they never recieved the fax and the money I had paid them was for past due membership charges. They requested that I send them verification that the fax I sent was recieved by them. As far as the monthly charge taken from by bank statement, I did not approve for them to do that.
They have treated me like a criminal. They have been rude and a pain to deal with. From reading the reports that have been made it sounds like this is how they treat people.

Response to Move to Texas

If the complaintant knew in advance that she would be moving to another state, she should have contacted her local spa and discussed the situation with them. She stated that company requested a fax proving that she had moved: She should have been wise to use a reputable 3rd party (for example, Kinko's, Staples, etc.) where she would have received a Sent confirmation if not only for her records.
At this venure I would only suggest that she re-send her fax with the following attachments as supporting documents: 1) Receipt of move (e.g. U-haul,Ryder, or moving company) that would show the Date of the move; 2) Contact Person's name at the (former) spa that she informed of the move, as well as briefly stating the conversation regarding the move / no spa in the new location.
Best Wishes
