Lady Of America Ripoff 2004 paid full settlement amount to cancel membership Now in 2007 they're threatening to file suit over $6000.00 balance for auto renewal of account Miami Florida

Called Lady of America in located in Miami Gardens, Florida in 2004 in order to find out how much I would have to pay in order to cancel my wife's membership and get out of the contract early as we were in the process of a divorce and did not want to have any outstanding balance owed to them. They advised me that I had to pay $941.11 (which they confirmed in writing would be the amount to "settle the account") I paid full settlement amount of $941.11 and they cashed the check. Now three years later in June, 2007 I receive a phone call from a collections company stating that I have a $6000.00 balance "for auto renewal" of the account, which was not part of the so called settlement I made. They said that if I don't pay, they will file suit against me.
