Lendingtree Sells your info to several loan companys, resulting in hundreds of calls and texts

Used lendingtree to find a loan company.  They suggested one loan company which we went with and were approved. We were waiting for a call the next day for final approval.

Got a call first thing in the am 8AM sharp.   It was an auto reply saying to press 1 if we applied for a loan yesterday. Pressed 1 and rep came on asking for name and phone, gave it to her and she said needed more info for application. Told her were already approved and have payments starting on Nov 1 for xxx amount per month. She said no this is a blank application and only have name and phone.  I was confused and asked if they were xxxxx loan company.  She said no we are 800 loanmart.. Told her we never applied for a loan with them. She replied with they got info from lendingtree and were calling to finish up application.

So 800 loanmart is calling people and trying to piggyback on other loans by calling first thing the next day before real loan company calls and trying to scam info for a loan app by saying they need additional info for loan, trying to trick people into taking out another loan when they are thinking they are just adding info to the real loan application.

Lendingtree is adding to this scam, do not give them any info.  If I wasnt in the tech field and maybe was elderly or unaware of this scam they would have gotten me to give them all my info, when I was just thinking they were the real loan company we went with.  Will be reporting this to the BBB and FBI.
