Lincoln Financial Group beneficiary designation revoked by insurance company Greensboro, North Carolina

My husband and I bought a life insurance policy on him so I could have some security later in my life.  We were divorced but remained best friends and room mates for many years.  He wanted me to continue as beneficiary of his life insurance because I had helped him in his business long after our divorce.

He called lincoln life Insurance at the time of our divorce to ask if any changes needed to be made, they said no everything was fine.

He called again two years before his death and asked if all was OK with the policy.  He always said insurance companies are crooks and rip offs and he wanted to make sure I would be taken care of.

Now, they have denied me as beneficiary because I was listed as wife not ex wife.  They kept asking for more information but had no intention of honoring the intent of the policy owner.
