I purchased a laptop at Office Depot in Studio City CA and they offered both a mail in rebate from Office Depot and HP for the same product. I mailed the rebate forms on the same day, and as of today HP says they have mailed my check out, and Office Depot says they have not received anything from me. To make matters worse, when you call their call center you get rude, obnoxious, foreigners who could care less about Americans and the rebates they deserve.

When I called them they said they had no record of me mailing them anything and that I should go back to the store and get the rebate form. I asked if I could download the rebate online and they said no. I went to the store and asked if I could get a rebate and they just looked online and ended up printing me out the wrong one and the correct one is nowhere to be found anywhere. I faxed everything I could find to the number the call center asked me to fax to, but I still don't have the original rebate form and no one can seem to help find it or print it.

I am going to try to go back to the store again to get this rebate form but seriously, I find it amusing that I mail both rebates on the same day but HP gets one and Office Depot does not, and of course Office Depot is the large rebate.

I have no delivery confirmation or copy of the original rebate form.

I didn't ask for delivery confirmation nor did I copy the original rebate form. I didn't think it would be necessary. I copied everything else, but that is the only form I didn't get.

Regardless, Office Depot owes me this money and I intend to get it one way or the other, even if I have to return this laptop.

May I ask how you get delivery confirmation to a P.O. Box? Who signs for it?

Why didn't you.....

just fax them the copies of all the rebate paper work you mailed off in the first place?

Why didn't you check the USPS website and confirm that the post office delivered the envelope that you mailed off with delivery confirmation?

Didn't do either of those two things, well now you know what to do next time you decide to try to participate in a rebate. These two steps are a must in case something like this happens with any rebate, and it will happen, as you have found out.
