PAYPAL froze my account, 'limited access'on Feb17 2006. The reason supposedly was to verify information. Their pre-amble when I sign in is "PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system. We recently reviewed your account, and we need more information to help us provide you with secure service. Until we can collect this information, your access to sensitive account features will be limited. We would like to restore your access as soon as possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience."
A case number was assigned. I went to the 'resolution center' page and and submitted the information they required. PAYPAL refused to release my account which has $315. stating that I am associated with another account that has issues. No other information was given to me no matter how many times I used their 'dropdown' email forms. They are a brick wall, cloaked behind 'form' emails, always with the same 'form response-to go to the resolution center to resolve the issue.
At the resolution center page I paste the PPcase number assigned and I am informed that there is no such number in their system. Also, there are no outstanding cases or complaints against me. ?? PAYPAL made some changes that I happened to be reading through and I discovered that PAYPAL, as of January 2006, can make interest on money in U.S. paypal accounts!! Really!? I see a smokescreen!
We, who have PAYPAL accounts have to apply to make interest. So, think of it...PAYPAL freezes thousands of small accounts like mine for 6 months, they collect interest while our money is frozen. Remember, they hide behind the internet wall of 'form emails' and 'drop down' forms. I call that EXPLOITATION'...PAYPAL is making a PROFIT in interest on hapless customers with frozen, 'limited access' accounts. With no benefit or return to the account holder.
The PAYPAL Pirates have full power to use money in 'limited access' accounts (money that sellers work hard for and entrust to PAYPAL) to enrich themselves, collecting interest for 'up to 180 days'HAH! guarenteed, it's not 'up to'. I call that embezzelment. Pirates sitting on a mountainous volume of money and greedy for more any way they can get it.
Thanx so much for this site that gives me the opportunity to vent how angry I am, I feel abused and powerless. PAYPAL has far too much power.

You need to call them.
But the part about giving you a tracking number that doesn't work makes it sound like phishing.
Good luck.

Thank you for your input, but I was not phished. I always go directly to the PAYPAL site. I never respond to such e-mails but instead direct them to SPOOF. The $315. is still in the PAYPAL account but I am unable to access it. The account states 'limited accesss'. I have checked and rechecked the status with PAYPAL and the response is always the same. Again, I repeat, I did NOT respond to a phished PAYPAL email.

Respond to an email from Paypal asking you to login?! They tell you over and over they will not ask for you to do that.
Please tell us you didn't do that.
Cause if you did, you just got phished and someone else has control of your Paypal account and now has your $315.
That is why when you go to the legit Paypal site they have no record of this freeze on the account or that tracking number.
