Once the item did arrive, it was not the same leather hood pictured with the description. For $80.29, I received a cheap rendition and notified PayPal immediately that the seller used a Bait and Switch tactic.
PayPal never responded to my 4 emails to include a request for a fax number to send pictures since PayPal does not allow email attachments. And I was never notified that the case was prematurely closed until I accessed the website to purchase a shipping label.
PayPal Buyer Protection Plan clearly states coverage for items that are not significantly as described. Why the case was closed and I was told that the merchantability of products is not covered afterwards is incomprehensible. With over a decade of conducting business with PayPal to include the purchase of shipping labels and payment of PayPal fees as an eBay seller, I strongly believe the case deserves to be reopened, the item returned to the seller unused and at my expense and the $80.29 refunded. This is not a case of buyer remorse. The seller (Peter)used a Bait and Switch tactic and he will not respond to my request for a refund.
I have a long standing record with both eBay and PayPal of providing my customers with honest descriptions with actual pictures, fast shipping and exceptional customer service in my eBay store that has reflected positively on the eBay/PayPal corporation for numerous years.
Mr. Thompson needs to step-up and extend the amount of courtesy to me. Otherwise the Buyer Protection Program is a fraudulent scam perpetrated on all costumers that use PayPal.
The next step is to file a complaint with SC Department of Consumer Affairs.
To readers in general, I will update you on PayPal's response or lack there of.
