I am having a severe problem with PayPal, Inc. I have been using their online payment processing service to accept payments from my internet customers for years. I have never had a problem until now.
For a period of 2-4 weeks prior to September 13, 2004, I had received a little over $2500 into my PayPal account from online customers. Several of my customers filed fraudulent complaints against me with PayPal, in attempt to get their money back. As I result, Ebay froze my account on September 13. I had no problem with that, as that was their policy. They informed me that I needed to get the complaints resolved, and they would reinstate my account.
I quickly solved the problems, and had all of my complaints resolved by 9/15. Since then, I have been trying to contact PayPal to have them reinstate my account. They have been totally uncooperative, and very unprofessional. They respond to each of my emails with a generic, template reply, saying that I need to resolve several complaints THAT ARE ALREADY RESOLVED. I have tried to call them, but they give me the same runaround, even though I tell them that I am looking right at my complaint statuses, and they each say "Case Closed".
PayPal is wrongfully witholding over $2500 of MY MONEY. I consider their acts FRAUDULENT, and nothing less that THEFT. I want access to my account so that I can remove my money and never do business with them again. PayPal is a dishonest company, and they need to be investigated by the authorities for their fraudulent activities.

I just got MaximumPC magazine and lo and behold right there in their pc advocates page the "Watchdog", it syas that PAYPAL has chosen to pay a settlement without admitting to wrong doing for 9.25 million to those who had their accounts frozen.
the person who wrote in about the paypal problem, scam etc, got an email from paypal@settlement.com they say you're eligible for get this...a $50 settlement if you can prove that they froze your account. and if you can prove that it hurt your business(which it did apparently) you can receive more. Just email that email address I said above and go from there ...Good luck Scott!
