I had booked a move from New Mexico to Alabama with these idiots- the date was to be September 15, 2004. I booked this on 8-11-2004- they had plenty of time to arrange this move.
We took a trip and decided that our destination was going to be AL rather than our original tentative one of GA, so called them to give them an exact address; when we booked we gave a ball park destination, and that was understood between the rep, Mike Devers, and myself.

Some guy named Tom Smith called me on Sept. 10 to tell me that they could maybe have a truck there on the 17th or 18th, unless I wanted to insist on our original date of the 15th, in which case he could maybe have some rinky dink outfit for me.

If I were to wait for his GOOD moving outfit, it would be the 17th or 18th...
Then he wanted to charge me more for changing the destination, then he cut that fee in half, then he waived it altogether. Then he cut 2 cents per lb off our price, due to the destination being 300 miles closer. He really had me confused- but I was adamant that the 15th was to be our move date.
I called early the next day to reiterate that the 15th was to be our move date, and was told that it could not be done, and our deposit would be refunded within 48 hours to our bank account. It was NOT!
I called on the 16th to see why my money was not in the bank, and Tom Smith told me that we were not getting our money back. He told me that they had "all looked at it", then hung up on me.
I cannot believe that they think they can do this- I will take them to court and they will pay for the most expensive attorney that I can find!!

Final Update, it was a condition of his refunding my money. ..only 1/2 of my refund, promising the rest a week later-this was back in October

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 08, 2004

I promised Mr. Tom Smith at Precision Moving that I would update my original report- it was a condition of his refunding my $$$!

He had sent me 1/2 of my refund, promising the rest a week later-this was back in October- and then when it didn't show up in the mailbox, I called, and at that time he wanted to negotiate the balance, in return for my amending this complaint and saying that he had made it all better. I told him that when I HAD received the full refund I would do so. He said his business had really been hurt by my submission of this report to the Ripoff website- GOOD!

So he sent it, and now that I am positive the check has cleared, I am making good on my promise to return here to tell people that my deposit was refunded in FULL. I told him I would be perfectly honest, and that is why I mentioned that he tried to blackmail me into clearing his name prior to his making good on the refund.

I feel more strongly than ever that you HAVE to stand up for your own rights, nobody else will- and fight with every tool at your disposal! I feel that this website was instrumental in my recovery of $1040.00- not a sum to sneeze at!- and also my following through on contacting the BBB in West Palm Beach, attorneys, and calling the movers repeatedly. Thank you for publishing my original report, and for all of you out there having the same problems- GO FOR IT! Don't let anyone steal from you without a fight!!
