Premier Cancun Vacations Scamming the elderly Cancún Mexico

My grandmother was sold a vacation package from Premier Cancun Vacations.  She is physically handicapped and suffers from mental disorders.  She has been on disability her entire life.  She was sold this package even though she does not meet the basic requirements to take this vacation.  You MUST be employed full time.  My grandmother was never informed of the terms and conditions at the time of purchase.  When she called them to let them know that she is physically unable to take this vacation they actually talked her into paying even more money to extend the expiration date.  

My grandmother finally came to me to tell me what happened.  I called the company to tell them everything.  I was sure that anyone with a soul would understand the situation.  I figured we could at least work out some kind of partial refund due to the curcumstances.  Instead, they went right into sales mode and tried to convince me to pay more money to extend the expiration date again.  I asked to speak with a supervisor.  Ron Roussel answers the phone.  I kindly explain the situation again.  His tone quickly turned condescending.  That is when I was completely upfront with him and told him that the company is taking advantaged of a handicapped senior citizen who was cmpletely unaware of the fact that she doesn't even meet the criteria to attend the vacation she was sold.  Ron said "AND HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT"?  I told him that they should inform customers of terms at the time of purchase.  Ron then told me that he has a recording of my grandmother agreeing to all of the terms and conditions.  I said "ok, well if that is the case, how to I obtain a copy of that".  Ron burst out laughing and said "I WOULDNT GIVE THAT TO YOU".  I asked "why.".. he said "because we dont do that".  At this point I saw that this conversation was going nowhere.  I asked Ron for the contact info for the companys legal team.  We would not share that with me.  He would only give me the customer service contact.  He was so horribly rude!!   

It is really so sad that this company prey's upon individuals in situations such as my grandmother.  I can only hope that by posting this I can help someone to not make the same mistake.  Most elderly, like my grandmother, are barely making ends meet.  We need to make sure we educate our elderly family members of these scams.
