In 2004 we visited Cancun, Mexico. We fell into a high pressure sales scam by Premiere Holiday to buy a timeshare. It was located in the Hyatt Hotel, a beautiful place with beautiful surroundings. We were assured that we would be able to return there and other beautiful places with our time share enrollment. We were to earn "credits" and could use them as they built up monthly with our monthly payments. We were also assured if we did not want to use our credits, they would sell them to someone else and we could make money! Soon after returning home, we found that the destination book provided did not specify the "credit" amount needed to travel. After many many unanswered, busy signals, and no return calls and over $3000.00 paid to their company we realized we were scammed. When I did receive a book from their company with credit values and tried to reserve, they told me I had to pay the annual fee before they would allow me to reserve. After paying the annual fee we were told the book we received was outdated and no longer valid. I asked to sell our credits and was told it was our responsiblity to sell them to someone else. I was quoted a price to stay in Lake Tahoe by their representative and after calling the hotel I found it would be cheaper to book it without the timeshare! I 2005 we received a notice that the Board of Representatives had assessed a one time $499.00 fee that had to be paid. It stated to call with concerns. No number or address was provided! We returned to Cancun soon after and tried to locate an office, with no success. I spoke with a representative on the phone and told them I was not paying anymore and demanded my money back! They told me I could not have any money returned and if I paid no more Iwould not gain any other credits. NOW>> November 13,2007, we have received a notice from Monterey Collections stating our account has been sent to a collection agency. We have not received any other statements or anything from Premier Holiday since 2005. We have also reported this to the Hyatt Corporation who were familiar with this company but did not take any responsibility.
Thanks,
