Did you call or write ahead of time for payoff amount?

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 16, 2010

Did you request a payoff amount in writing?

If not, that may be the problem. If your payment was even 1 cent different than the actual payoff amount in their computer, they will not consider it paid in full.

Always contact any bank ahead of time and request a payoff amount.

Usually they will send it to you in writing and that amount will be good for like 10 or 15 days.

Stay off the phone now, do everything in writing by certified mail, return reciept requested.
