A Sears repair technician pushed me to buy one of these warranties when he serviced my fridge. I'm sure he was bonused for selling it, and the tease was that the service he performed that day would be 1/2 price IF I entered into a year's contract to cover my appliances for $50/month. Sounded fair, so I did it. Then I needed a repair on both my dryer and my built-in range exhaust fan. It took two days to get a repairman out, and it was a third party repair shop, not Sears. He diagnosed the prob, said he'd order the parts, assured me it would be quick and that the parts were easy to get.
It took 8 days for the dryer repair, and that was after a lot of back and forth, with repeated calls to the independent contractor. Then, on day 10, a rep from HomeSure/CCHS calls to say that the range exhaust unit will not be repaired at all, because the fine print excludes it.
