Time Warner Cable employees in the retention department lied about adjusting my plan in order to keep me as a customer, then proceeded to bill me under the old plan rate.  When I discovered the problem and confronted customer service in person, TWC quickly tried to cover up the problem by giving me a credit to correct the account balance.  However, they ignored my request that the unethical, untruthful conduct of the retention department be brought to the attention of management.

A few weeks later, a check I mailed was credited to the wrong account.  Multiple customer service representatives admitted that they saw where the money had been credited but could not move it.  The billing department and disconnection technician continued to call me daily, even after I provided a copy of the canceled check.  Finally, I got so frustrated that I called TWC and demanded they disconnect my service immediately, as well as requesting that they remove me from future mailings.

To make all of this worse, TWC has a very poorly designed customer service system that relies on internet menus and automated telephone systems.  Some of the employees seemed interested but about 1/2 of them sounded like they really didn't care and just read from a script.  No one wanted to do any work or solve a problem.

I'm so happy that I'm going to spend some time on Christmas week bringing back their box & remote.  I can't wait until Century Link takes about 50% of their business and puts them under.  Better yet, I hope that enough people will complain and the cable, telephone, and cell phone industries will become regulated utilities with limited profit potential and lots of oversight.  Somebody needs the hammer to be brought down on these folks.  Maybe some class action oriented lawyers will act as champions of the consumer and find some common problems that demand legal action.  I'd love it if someone was to investigate the formulas used to determine how much customer time to waste navigating the automated telephone systems.  I'm sure somebody in TWC does a business analysis on how to discourage people from talking to actual employees.  This creates an incredible burden on society in terms of mental stress and lost productivity.  It is too bad the cable company can't be held liable for this, particularly in light of the fact that they were a monopoly until recently.

Time Warner is a real joke

I to has had a Time warner account sine 1987. Here the last 3 years I've had some really serious problems with techs and customer service. They do lie just to get you off the phone, and tell you that you have a service call set up and no one calls or comes out. I have lost countless hours off my job along with hours on the phone just to be lied to time and time again. They also took me off the 2 year bundle after 18 months and claimed they sent me a letter telling me so. I've had supervisors claim to help me by setting up much needed repair only to be told that no schedule was ever done.

 This time internet went out and was told by a tech that it was my computer. So we took the computer to a large computer store and had them to go over it. Only to find out that the computer was in excellent conditon and nothing wrong with it. Called TW back and was refused to have a tech come out. I had a supervior finally set up a schedule repair after 9 calls in to do so. So a week and half now and still nothing. So I called to get credit for the interuption only to be told that we can't do that. My equipment was proven and in writing nothing wrong with the computer and TW's shoddy used equipment . So since you refused to send a tech out to repair, I said turn all my services off, it's not working anyway , and was  told that I would be charged $150.00 to cancell my 2 year bundle with them. Now no service, no tech and you're going to charge me what? No way I said, you have not repaired your broken equipment nor have you ever showed any interest in coming out to fix it either. I refuse to pay TW to sit and look at a black screen. and refuse to pay them to disconnect. I AM talking with an attorney on Monday about this. They have not fixed anything to my satisfaction no do they want to. 

Last May of 2011 I also then had complete no service. Was told we have to send a dig crew out to redo the wiring . No one could tell me when they was coming except they will call me before they come. I was told by several departments they see the work order for the dig crew. They never called, never showed up and we had 7 other apt. owners ready to handle over their apts for a day to get TW rewired in them. NO CLL, NO SHOW and this went on for a month and only got $20.00 credit off my $140.00 a month bill. Their customer reps act like they get very little training and thrown on the phone with alittle piece of paper in what to say when we call to complain. And the $11.00 and hour I guess you get what you pay for NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!
