On October 1, we called Time Warner Cable to get internet service. The installation was a little high so i decided to go with another company. I called several other internet companies but they did not service my area. I called Comcast as well even though they didn't service my area they actually set up an account with me through Time Warner cable at a much lesser rate so i signed up. I was given a installation date which was about 5 days out. I called Time Warner to see if i can get an earlier date in which the company said i could reschedule in about 3 days out. I had to be at home for the installation person to access home. I had to take off work to accommodate the technician. I stayed at home that day and we had to call about 4 or 5 times to make sure person would show up and each time the customer service rep said that the person should call me when they are on the way. I told them that someone attempted to call me from time warner but the call dropped and i attempted to call back but the call was not reaching the person. They assured me again. It was so late now in the evening i was sure they wouldn't come so we called back and was told we were not on schedule that day. I was truly upset because i had taken off from work but Time Warner did not care.
I cancelled the service with them at that time and asked to get my money back. The customer service rep told me it would be 7 to 10 business days; two weeks later i still did not get the money back on my debit card in which that is how i paid. I called Time Warner and was told that they are mailing me a check and it would take another 30 days. How awful is that? How can this company get away with their bad business ethics. I paid them with my debit card; any other reputable company pays back with the original form of payment and they will pay you back in 3 to 5 business days but this company is bad business. I received bad service all around from representatives that are unknowledgable; provide wrong information that cause customers money; give bad service; the company that will not provide you with a manager and a manager that will not work with you to appease the customer. This is totally bad business. I want more companies to service my area so that i can have options. This is bull crap. I want my money back the way it was issued to me and NOW. It should not have ever taken that long. How is it i gave you my money today for service in 5 days. I cancelled before i received the service and you the company take over a month to pay me back. That can add up to lots of interest for the company when you hold money like that for that length of time not just from me as a customer but from others because i am sure you are so use to sticking it to other people not just me.
I hate this company and i need options. If you are another company out there that read this report please become a service provider to the area Horizon North Parkway in Dallas, Texas. We need other companies to compete with Time Warner. They are another big company that take advantage of the people.

But They Do Charge

I know for a fact that Time Warner does charge you upfront for your first month as well as a 50 security fee and taxes. I was told this when they did the exact same thing to me. It may be something new that they are doing but they definitely do charge upfront now.

See when you sign up for service and they charge you, its all part of the whole automated system. When you cancel early, they have to dog through the system and "Find" your ticket then modify the ticket as cancelled with a backdate of the cancel. This all takes time. You think you were the only person that day in a market of BILLIONS that changed their mind?? It takes 5-10 business days to do this then roughly another week or two to process through snail mail. You will still be getting your money back just not in the time frame in which you want it back. Sorry, but thats the way it works. And as for "customer resolution" there is NONE in your case, YOURE NOT A CUSTOMER!!! You changed your mind AFTER the wheels were in motion to get your service.
You do not qualify as a customer. Just someone who wasted their time and energy. So them dragging their feet is perfectly understandable. You made them jump through hoops and then at the last min you changed your mind. These ppl dont get paid when you do that. And as for your "interest" on your money....yes the whole $3 they would earn is whats keeping them from sending you your money. Yep, not because they have to retreive it out of the system then wipe you out of that same system. Even though you changed your mind AFTER the fact. They STILL have to make sure you are no longer charged and your information is out of the system. All of which takes more then the $3 you MIGHT have earned.
The market is no longer the customer is always right. Now its the customer is always screwing you. I have seen it degrade to this from the consumers own actions. The American consumer will lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want. The giant companies have seen this and now do EVERYTHING in their power to protect themselves. Which means they need to ensure your NOT a scammer, that you are not playing them. This all takes time. You can rant as you have but in the end, you have to wait. THEY have YOUR money and THEY will get it to you when THEY get to it. Your just going to have to WAIT.

Doesn't make sense..

First off I am not a fan of TWC but in this case what you are saying does not make sense.
You talk about getting refunded. What exactly are you trying to get a refund for, because they do not bill in advance for installation. You get a bill AFTER the fact. So if you were never installed how did you get a bill, then even if you got a bill and did not go through the installtion why would you have paid?
We then get to the appointment. Do you work 7 days a week? If taking off of work is such a big deal(which I think is understandable) why didn't you just schedule it out when you had a day off? Heck, even a few days later you might have been one of the first ones of the day.
You also talk about having to wait around all day. When I have had to have a tech come to the house they always gave you a window of time(I believe it was within 2-3 hours). In fact at one time the even had a guarantee that if the tech didn't show up on-time you got a $20 credit. I remember this because they were 10 minutes past the window of time and sure enough I got the credit...for just being TEN minutes late.
