Last December I booked a vacation package through Travelocity/Expedia to Portland Oregon. After I booked it, I changed my mind, cancelled it and rebooked a new one with the same dates and destination. Still got charged $510.20 after I cancelled it well in advanced. Called up Customer Service to dispute it and told me it’s not their problem! United accidentally overcharged me and I need to dispute the charge with my credit card or Airline. After I raised my dispute, the amount got credited back. This past May, I got an email from their Billing Department. I owed them $510.20 for a trip to Portland, Oregon this past December. Explained to them the amount is in reference to a vacation package I canceled. They then accused me that I disputed a rebooked trip after I went on it. Told them I fixed their mistake and I don’t owe them anything! They wanted me to send them the itinerary number of the cancelled trip. Emailed them, told me over the phone, not to worry about it because it’s the airlines problem now. Last Friday, I got a call from a Claims Agency on behalf of Travelocity, told me I still owe them $510.20. I explained to them that back in May they told me it’s not my problem anymore! Claims agent asked if I can confirm the conversation in an email or letter from the company. I told them no and they said well you owe them the money. Would you like to pay with a credit card or check this afternoon? I was livid after I heard that and told him it’s their mistake. This is the second time in 6 months I had to correct their issue. What do you need from me to prove I don’t owe them because I’m not going to pay it? Claims Agent told me to send them a copy of the charge/credit to my card for $510.20. Went online and downloaded my statements from back in December of last year. Looked at the transactions and referenced the associated itinerary numbers against what was cancelled and rebooked. The itinerary number for the $510.20, referred to the rebooked flight and not the cancelled one. Explains why they still thought I short changed them on a rebooked flight. I called them up this afternoon and fixed their mistake for the 3rd time! This time I got an apology over the phone and made sure I got it in email!
