Travelocity Travelocity Cancellation Insurance Scam Nationwide

Booked a flight with Travelocity and took the "cancellation protection" plan. The cost of the ticket was only $ 102.00 and the cancellation plan was $ 19.00. However in the fine print they will not cover anything outside of a medical situation and then you need a doctors note. Therefore you need to spend more than what in this case is the ticket cost to get a note from the doctor with co pays etc... than the ticket is worth.

Even then its sketchy if they will refund your money. To be blunt this "Cancellation Protection" offering is deceptive at best and downright thievery at worst. To compound my disgust with this company it took me 30 minutes to get to talk with someone in customer service, then another 20 minutes of waiting to talk with a supervisor who basically read to me the rules. The money isn't much but I really don't like the deceptive way they hosed me and the lack of customer service is appalling.

I know some corporate lawyer will respond to this with a rebuttal saying I should have read all the fine print. Really? On such a small purchase I need to spend 15 minutes going through looking to see how they are going to hose their customers... Come on, just be honest and say cancellation plan limited to medical emergencies. The problem with that is they wouldn't be duping so many people out of their hard earned cash...
