I recently went through my Axia orientation and have started my classes. I am transferring from my local community college to wrap up my 1st degree. I have also completed and attained my state license from Aladdin Beauty College. Prior to starting your studies you would have been informed that you will owe the cost of the loan even if you decide not to complete your classes. Also, it is the student financial aide policy, at any school, is that you are not covered for classes you have to retake. The same rule applies at the Dallas County Community Colleges.

You were informed of the cost of your classes prior to taking them. You knew it was expensive but enrolled anyway, right? Aladdin cost me $9,000.00, actually $12,000.00 with interest and I completed my studies in 9 months - that's expensive! But, I was aware of all this information before I said 'I will'. It was mine and your decision to go forward, reguardless of the cost or stipulations there of.

I have found the instructors to be quite easy so far. The work is very do-able. I am having trouble navigating their sites, per lack of experience. Outside of that it seems you simply do not like the hole you have dug for yourself and the money it will require for you to move forward. That is a consequence you, if you paid attention, were warned about in the beginning. I've been there, I've had to pay to retake coarses. It sucks, but it's no ones fault but our own.

Laura don't apologize. Many in this ripoff group(Axia) are just employees of Axia. The same thing happened to me in 2006. When loans are given out to groups like Axia after all the complaints, then I guess the loan companies get what they desderve. You can notify the loan company of your complaints and the stress it has caused you. They will send you a hardship paper that will help with the mess.
For goodness sakes, don't throw good money after bad. Get out of the school.

I do appolized if i came off the wrong way, but i was simply trying to get my issue resolved. I have made so many phone calls to my financial advisor, and to this date she has not called me back, it is already one mount and a half. I have even called the person who got my signed up for these classes with no avail. Bobbi i will surely appreciate it if you can give me any more information to help me out, i seem to be getting no where with these people, at this point i am very frustrated and don't know what to do. I am still interested in continuing my classes but there seem to be a brick wall around me.

My beggining classes was very hard for me because i was very ill and i tried to do all my assignments but some of them was late so i am not blaming anyone. One person had written that i may have just signed up and did not attend or post my assignment and was expecting to pass, but i was so determined to get my grades that i had my kids bring my laptop to the hospital so i can do my studies on the days that i felt good enough. So if you have any information that will help me, please pass it on, i am anxious to get back in class.

My comments were actually for another poster, guess your's was just next in line. You have options besides calling the same financial counselor - go up the food chain. When I first come up against resisitance, I find another avenue, they are there. All I know is the folks that worked with me took calls after office hours, gave me an after hours phone number and got me answers. Be reasonable and rational. BUT - if you don't want someone commenting back to you about your business, then keep it just that your business which means don't post in an open and public forum.

I have taken classes off and on through on line universities and in class rooms; my experience with UoP (University of Phoenix) was nothing but positive; my counselors, both scholastic and financial went above and beyond the call of duty when helping me; and trust me - I can be a very difficult person. In all the schools there are rules of what they can and cannot do; most of which is determine by the Department of Education, local education boards and laws that are so convoluted a lawyer needs another lawyer to understand. UoP is a PRIVATE college and what you seem to forget is that they not only have to answer to the US government but to that little thing called SHAREHOLDERS.

My suggestion to anyone is that if you have a beef with a company, buy a few shares of stock and show up at a stockholders meeting. The maze of higher education is very difficult and the government (you know that body of and for the people) change the rules daily. In reading your rant, you make no sense, have poor grammar and spelling. My first class at UoP I argued with a professor over an issue with formatting; bottom line, this is college not grade school and he was right in his assessment; I did not follow the correct formatting rules. With 179,000 students, there are going to be issues. There are only so many counselors to go around, if you think UoP is tough - go to an Ivy League college - try just getting in to see a counselor, it takes weeks.

While I attended Axia College, and like you, felt ripped off, how can you fail their introductory courses, unless you just plain don't attend? The Academic Counselors do an excellent job at explaining what is required, and there is ALWAYS someone there to help you, whether it be at 3a or 3p, they are there. My complaint wasn't the school or the counselors, but the price. The price is outrageous for a 2-year degree.

However, I think there is more to your story, such as, "I thought I could pass by just simply signing up, although I didn't attend class."
