This was the WORST flight experience i've ever had in my years of flying. I will absolutely never fly USAIRWAYS ever again. To make my experience worse, my two young children were put through this terrible experience along with my husband and I.

First of all, our departure flight left late. we arrived in Las Vegas and were supposed to board another flight to Atlanta. Unfortunately, we missed that flight THANKS TO USAIRWAYS. went to the customer service desk and the woman told us that the next flight out to ATL was 24 hours later. We were given no accomodations whatsoever except for a number to call for nearby hotels.

It was past 11 pm. my children and husband were tired. we stayed overnight at fairfield inn which was about 15 minutes away from the airport. the shuttle bus had to transport us back and forth.

The next day we were dropped off at the airport, checked in, waited for our flight. my daughter drank all her milk, had to go and look for some. resturants did not have any milk. they recommended going to starbucks. starbucks didn't have any. my kids slept on the floor. we waited until 11 pm to board the next flight. we still couldn't find any milk, so i asked the lady at the departure gate and she told me that she spoke to the airflight staff and made sure that me and my family be accomodated.

we boarded the plane shortly after and we were just relieved. we waited for our milk. no one came by. my husband politely asked one of the male flight attendants for a pint of milk. he said they didn't have any. we told him that we already spoke to the customer service rep at the departure gate and she said it wouldn't be a problem. he gives us a look, goes to the front. comes back and tosses the milk onto my husband's lap and says, "NEXT TIME YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN MILK!" and walked pass us!!!

i have already been irritated enough at the fact that we were stuck in Las Vegas THANKS TO USAIRWAYS. i was already irritated that we had to spend an extra night in LAS VEGAS and paid for our night there. and i was already irritated to see my children sleep on the floor in the Las Vegas airport. So to have this US AIRWAYS jerk give us an attitude and rudely throw the pint of milk at my husband as if we're some poor beggars who couldn't afford to get our own, I WAS PI**ED.

so i did exactly what anybody else would do if they were treated that way. I confronted the jack-a** in front of everyone and strangely, the coward couldn't even look at me!! the other flight attendant assured us that we would be given his name and employee id at the end of the flight. and afterwards when everyone left, we got up and approached the coward and he wrote his name on a piece of scratch paper and gave it to me and told me he wasn't allowed to give his employee id out. son of a b***h.

so i filed a complaint to FAA and USAIRWAYS and i two months down the line, i receive a BS letter of apology and complimentary drink/headphone coupons for my next flight with USAIRWAYS.
f*** you, USAIRWAYS.

making judgements when not there

AUTHOR: Vic - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 11, 2010

I don't quite understand how so many people can come to the defense of the nation's worst rated airline and treat this mother like some kind of criminal.  She cannot plan ahead for the airlines errors, so why blame her for the fact that US ail-lines (yes, the spelling is right) screwed up to begin with!

I have had 2 unfortunate incidents with us ail lines and both were bad and included being ripped off (my checked luggage) and the same missed flight and lack of professional staff and accomodations that this woman experienced.  It's a real drag when you pay to check your luggage, someone rifles through and steals your personal items, you spend an hour or so filing a claim,  and then customer service makes you wait on the phone for twenty minutes while the customer service guy (From India?) talks to a so-called supervisor and then tells you they have no responsibility to pay your claim.

If there ever was a need for government regulations, this is it.  They are as bad as wall street.

Who travels with kids and doesnt take everything they may need? Why would you go anywhere with kids for any length of time and not be prepared?

You cant hold the airline responsible because you didnt think ahead.

Really? I think not...

Ok so first you requested a non-stop flight to Atlanta which runs at about 11 PM each night. So US Airways grants you that wish and then you complain about the TIME elapsed? Next time, take a connection. Not every single connecting flight will be delayed/canceled. To minimize the risk of delay just take a flight with a easy buffer zone (2 hours) in case the flight is delayed!

The "Milk" issue is just ridiculous. Go look at Terminal A and there's Burger King (24 Hours) Cinnabon, Mrs. Field's Cookie store, STARBUCKS plus others in just that terminal, which ALL sell milk. Are you telling me NONE of these places had milk? I just don't believe it, period.

#1 - What was the reason for your first flight being late? If it was something that was out of the airline's control such as (air traffic control issues, weather, etc.), then they wouldn't be obligated to offer any compensation or payment of expenses.

#2 - To the comment about US Airways using contract workers. Where are you getting your information????? Most employees in customer contact positions at US Airways (with the exception of some cities) are employed by the airline (or one of its airline partners) not come contract company.

craziness

AUTHOR: Mia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 01, 2008

so ok..when you schedule a flight you have to take everything into consideration. its not the airlines fault that you missed your connection. you should have made your connection later. yeah its bad that you had to stay in vegas with your kids but its sorta your fault. im a flight attendant..i know these things..the reason your flight attendant was rude was probably because he was in the middle of counting ALL the people on the plane and cant stop to answer stupid questions. im sure she could have waited 5 minutes for her milk...we have thousands of things we have to do before we shut the door. passangers just don't realize because they don't care to pay attention. they only worry about themselves and have no consideration for other people. and just for future reference...don't get mouthy with the gate agents or the customer service people because they can make your life living hell. you can actually get arrested with FEDERAL charges for being a bi**h. so next time you travel...have some consideration. you know the flight crew has to deal with the delays too...and we just can't sit in our seats and bi**h about it..we get bi**hed at. flight attendants are there to save you a** not kiss it.

US AIR IS BARELY HANGING ON BY A THREAD

AUTHOR: Margaret - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2007

Most of US Air's workforce is contract labor now, (you can thank the US Government for that dating back to 1978) so it does not surprise me that you were treated rudely. What do you expect from $ 8 -10 an hour employees. If the airlines had not deregulated then you would be dealing with people making a living wage of 20.00 an hour or more and would probably get the utmost respect!!!!!!!!

There is more to the story here

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2007

First of all, I lived in Las Vegas for 7+ years and worked in the tourism industry there. I have spent alot of time in that airport. There are NUMEROUS restaurants and kiosks to get food/milk from, some that are open 24/7. Therefore, you obviously did not REALLY look for any milk, you just wanted something to complain about.

For the other contributor who suggested complaining to the City of Las Vegas, I need to clarify that the Las Vegas Airport is NOT in the city of Las Vegas. It is in CLARK COUNTY, and is regulated by the CLARK COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY.

FYI..Under the "travelers bill of rights' you were entitled to accomodations if it was the airports scheduling that caused you to miss your flight. However, you need to push the issue with a SUPERVISOR.

You can still file a claim with the airline for your expenses. You need to do this in writing and provide copies of reciepts, etc. CC it to the FAA.

As fare as the flight attendant I just do not believe that happened the way you said it did

AUTHOR: Byte.me - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2007

You know US Airways dose a lot of things that make people very upset some times. What I have a problem with is the fact that just because you have kids and there was no milk anywhere that you think the world should stop and bow down you will the world is not that way lady. You also said that the airport sucked well the airport is not owned by US Airways if you would like you can file a complaint about the airport with the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. If you ever look at the taxes Las Vegas charged you 4.00 dollars per person for airport improvements when you departed Las Vegas. As fare as the flight attendant I just do not believe that happened the way you said it did. Why would a flight attendant go to the extremes that you said he did while in a pressurized metal tube? You now the flight attendant job is there to make sure the flight are safe not to be your personal servant when ever you call them. No I' am not a flight attendant but I do fly US Airways a lot and every time I have flown them the gate agent and the flight attendant have been nice. Maybe it is my outlook on life but you now every airline has its problem you can not tell me one airline that is flying today that has not had customer service issue. You know sometimes they are wrong and a lot of time the people that are flying are way wrong. That is all I have to say please enjoy your next flight on US AIRWAYS I now I will.

las vegas airport does not have a mcdonalds

AUTHOR: Lindae - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 21, 2007

nope, they don't have a mcdonalds, however they do have slot machines all over the terminal! we didn't have much luck finding milk in the concourse that we were in. also, their restroom facilities weren't family friendly unlike other airports i have been to.

yes, you're right about the connecting flights, but with what US AIRWAYS had already put us through, we didn't want to get stuck in phoenix or any other connecting cities, especially during the holidays when most flights are delayed anyways. we preferred overnight so our children would sleep throughtout most of the flight.

i still have the free headphone/complimentary drink coupons if anybody wants to use it on their next flight with USAIRWAYS. :)

Why take the red eye?

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 20, 2007

Granted, USAIR has only one non stop flight to Atlanta -the red eye, but they have 12 connecting flights to Atlanta out of Las Vegas that would have gotten you there in the afternoon or night before. I can't possibly imagine that all 12 flights were full. Didn't USAIR offer to fly you out earlier than 11 PM? The Milk search is also strange. Isn't there a McDonald's or something like that in Las Vegas airport?
Anyway I gave up on USAIR years ago. As someone said at a gate after a cancelled flight - "USAIR doesn't begin with U. You is the second word"
