I had a Virgin Mobile account and attempted to top up my account ont he day after the monthly fee was due. The process over the phone was complete, when it sent me a text message saying that it had not gone through correctly. I waited a few minutes to see if it was just slower than usual, and it told me I did not have sufficient funds to top up.

I had just added enough to pay for the usual monthly package. I thought I must have added wrong, so I put in another $10. It said there was a problem and that I should try again in a few minutes. When I went home I went ot the website and it did not show that I had topped up at all. I tried to top up, since I had just gotten a message form Virgin saying that if I did not handle the account it would be shut off for not having topped-up in a timely manner.

I had to go to work so it was a few hours later when I checked my bank account online to see if the top up had gone through. That's when I saw that Virgin had taken the first top up, the additional $10, and the second (duplicate of the first amount) top up, as well.
So far they have cost me 2 NSF fees, which my bank was kind enough to drop one of them, but I'm still waiting for Virgin to give me back the $10 plus all the taxes for each transaction. I am already living on a very tight budget, and this ate up my tiny paycheck and has made an irreversible mark on my banking account, IE Credit report.
When I called the next day to talk to Virgin, they took up 4 hours, and the next day over 2 more, telling me they couldn't do anything about it.

Finally after over 6 hours total, I got ahold of someone who actually spoke fluent English and they were able to get the first over-charge returned. I am still waiting for the rest of my money, but I frankly don't expect to see it.
