Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Denies help AND increases payment. Should We Contact Barney Frank? Des Moines Iowa

All the previous posts are identical to my situation with Wells. Due to the fact I must go to work shortly, I will spare you the depressing details. Suffice to say, this company is interested in one thing. Stealing your property!

I suspect with the new Obama administration, there is something in the works that will force Wells and others like them to help those of us facing forclosure. On CNBC (the financial channel) earlier today, Barney Frank, who is Chairman of ? committee that oversees the TARP money, spoke about the fact that banks and mortgage companies are not helping people facing forclosure and this committee is getting ready to do something about it.

After five months, numerous phone calls and faxes, the negotiator called me. Same story as others here. I had not sent proper info., not signed and dated, etc., etc. This was Tuesday of this week, 3 days ago. He wanted everything faxed by 3 PM. I sent it Wed. morning.

When he called Tues. morning, he said "I must get this finalized right away. I'll have an answer for you in a day."

Thursday, yesterday, he called. It was like getting hit with a club. I must come up with $400 by Jan. 23. Regular payment is $350 plus $19 late charge. I owe for Dec. and Jan. I just sent them $369 Dec. 1, for Nov. I am on a fixed rate of 8.65% for 12 years, with 8 yrs. left. Only owe 26K. They want $400 per month on the 23rd for 24 months. Then they will consider the back payments made and will revert back to $350.

That would be $1,200 extra when I am currently $740 in arrears. What a rip-off. I'm going to try to contact Barney Frank's office and suggest everyone her do the same. As well as your senators and congress people.

Just wanted to share my nightmare with others in the same situation.
