I was notified by Wells Fargo in April, 2009, suggesting that I apply for a loan modification, allowing me to receive a 3% mortgage. Who wouldn't do that? The nightmare began then and has escalated. Too many events to go into. Bottom line, I was told NOT to make mortgage payments by at least 15 employees during the loan modification. I applied in April, 2009 and in November, 2009, I was denied. OK, I said, then I will make my mortgage payments. Oh, no, I was told that it wouldn't apply to my account anyway. The monies would go into an escrow account. I had no choice but to apply again and was promised that it would not take 6 months this time. In December, 2009, I received a foreclosure notice. Wells Fargo said not to worry, the loan modification would override the foreclosure. In January, 2010, they turned my account over to foreclosure attorneys. Again, not to worry, that is the law. I got denied the second time in April, 2010, and tried to contact the attorneys (who are charging me out the butt each month for handling the case for Wells Fargo) to get an amount owed. Wells Fargo called me again....How would I like to apply for the loan modification again? Why would I do that when I was denied twice and I thought my account was now in the hands of the attorneys. At Doug's suggestion (Wells Fargo employee), he would be working exclusively on my account and would help me. I applied again because he stated that the attorneys would charge me 20% interest and I was assured that would be crazy. It goes on and on. I finally tried to hire a real estate attorney and he, basically, said that I was screwed. His only suggestion was to contact my local congressman and get them involved. The attorney stated that this is happening everywhere and that there is no legislature to prevent it from happening since there has never been a time in history such as now. Well, my congressman is involved, I was allowed to make 3 payments for October, November, December and now a review is slated for January. Again, more hundreds of documents needed to be faxed to Wells Fargo. I have no faith in that happening since I am reading very similar stories as mine that went nowhere. The congressman's office seems oblivious to what is happening. I faxed her some stories on Monday (Nov. 29th) to make her aware, assuming that she doesn't know.

It is crap when they say they don't want your house. They certainly do. I am very interested in getting involved with a civil law suit.

Anyone doing anything? My heart goes out to those who are victims of this scam. How very sad. Who wants to live in this country anymore?
