When I went to my nearby Wells Fargo Bank to deposit my unemployment check, the teller began asking me questions. I said I was laid off from my job. The teller painted a very bright picture for me andtoldme Wells Fargocould help alleviate some financial stress during this challenging time. I was interested. I later received a phone call from Erica Brooks. Erica told me about a government program calledHARPwhereI could refinance to a lower interest rate without anyincome or employment verification or contingency. With my good credit score, I was pleased for the opportunity to refinance to a lower interest rate and save some money each month toward getting back on my feet, all without income and employment verifications andcontingency.
Imet with Erica in person. She moved to complete a mortgage refinance application. She informed me everything would be fine and then asked for a substantialapplication fee of $375.I was hesitant and she assured me thatall would be fine and it was a nominal investment toward a wonderful savings. I gave her the money. After several weeks passed of not hearing from her, I received a notice in the mail from an underwriting firm that bluntly statedmy application was declineddue to too much debt to income. Now I was out $375with no further hope of refinance. I was devastated. My time and money was wasted. I received no phone call or any further contact from Erica or anyone else at Wells Fargo Bank or Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. I haveheard a very similar story from other friends and co-workers in Fort Collins. I will never Bank with Wells Fargo or initiate a new Home Mortgage with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage again and would strongly advise others, if theyvalue their time and hard earned money, avoidanything to do with Wells Fargo Bank and Home Mortgage.
