I should have called this story "The Saint Valentine's Day Masacare". On February 12, 2003, I purchased a diamond pendant necklace for my wife. She was with me. I thought that by bringing her I could buy something she would like. ( I let her pick out what she wanted ). It cost me under $300.

They also had a promotion for a set of small diamond heart earrings for about $40. I bought that as well. When she removed the heart earrings from the box, they bent out of shape and diamond chips fell out.

I went back to the store and they offered to exchange them for a pair that were also bent. (Some one else's return ) They no longer had these earrings. The clerk said that there was nothing that they would do because it was over 30 days and I did not have a Zales receipt. I did however bring in my VISA statement showing the 2 purchases.

I e mailed Zales and received a similar reply like those I read from Kevin O'Toole saying give them a day to research what I have said. I never received a reply.

Thank you for this site as I needed to tell the masses that Zale's sells inferior merchandise

Zale's Refunds Money

AUTHOR: Richard - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 13, 2003

On Friday 05/09/03, I received a call at work from Zales customer care. They told me that if I returned to Zales # 1750, I would get whatever I wanted...refund, exchange , or credit. I said that I would be there tomorrow. The customer care person told me that Saturday was not good, as they wanted to send 1750 a gift (for my trouble) for me. So I set it up for Monday.

It was Monday ... I went to 1750...spoke to the manager ( as I was instructed to )

The manager of Zales 1750 had no clue as to why I was there. Obviously she was brain dead. I told her that I spoke to customer care and then she remembered something.....she asked me if i made the purchase at 1750. I showed her my charge card statement. She looked at it and told me to come back in an hour. When I returned, she asked me for my VISA card and credited my account. She knew nothing about any gift. (somehow I suspected that)

This whole experience, along with this Zales Ripoff site, has been an education. Anyway ...all it took was 3 months to the day to get my refund.
