American Home Sheild Furnace Rip Off, Unjust Pay Off Carroll Iowa

To put it simply, I bought a home and with it came this lame warranty. About 6 months later my furnace dies (end of September). It was determined to have a cracked heat exchanger and determined unsafe to use. AHS wants to replace it with the cheapest crap on the market that has a life of 5yrs before they break. A pane PG8M to be exact. Plus they wanted me to fork out $900 bucks to upgrade everything to code and have no choice in what gets installed. I pretty much told them no way in hell. So then they offered a check. I was thinking at least $1500, nope $894. So I call a few contractors to see how much it would cost me for them to install the crappy furnace and in most cases it was more than double the cost, with out upgrading the code defects. We live in a retail world and I could care less what it costs the insurance company for their junk. Pay me what the retail world would charge! If you get in a auto accident you can get it fixed wherever you want and can get quotes, what a concept. Oh, its towards the end of October now and it was 37 degrees this morning, did I mention I have no heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
