On December 28, 2007, Kohl's ran an online sale. I purchased several of the sale items in two separate orders. All items showed in stock. I received my second order with no problem. I have yet to receive the first order. However, yesterday, January 10, 2008, I received an e-mail stating that several of the items in my order were not in stock and they have cancelled the items. I went online to their website and found several of the items showing as in stock - but at much higher prices than the sales pricing that I had gotten. Basically they do not want to honor their original sales prices. They then contact me after two weeks and arbitrarilly ship some of the lower end items and not the higher end items. All the while they now have those items on their website for sale in the sizes that I ordered and have them at higher pricing. They have not contacted me back and I have sent an e-mail letting them know that I am going to use any means to let the public know about their deceptive bait-n-switch sales tactics.
I cannot believe that this company is allowed to do this. The items were in stock when I ordered them, and they are still listed on their website for sale at much higher prices. If they were not in stock, why wasn't I immediately notified? Or at least a day or so after the order - not two weeks later, and then they lie about the items they cancelled not being in stock when they blattantly appear on their website for sale and show as "in stock." This is a disgrace - especially as the items were for my little girl - who was looking very forward to one of the items that they claim isn't in stock in the e-mail - but is on their website - for a much higher price!

Ok, so instead of Kohl's selling the items to you for the sale price, they decided to not sell them at all, thus not making a dime in profit?
I'm not a genius or anything, but it seems to me that Kohl's would be shooting themselves in the foot there.
I think you're being paranoid.

If you had bothered to call your local Kohl's store and ask them you would've realized that you either could have used an inside phone line within the store to call an online Kohl's employee who could've helped you re-order the same items that were out of stock and obtain the less expensive sales price. If they wouldn't do that (which I HIGHLY doubt) then you could've brought the sales receipt after you bought the items and had them price adjusted at the customer service desk. How do I know this? Because I have done this for Kohl's customers.
