Kohl's DON'T OPEN A CREDIT CARD Nationwide

Opened a Kohls charge card to take advantage of discounts.  

I regularly failed to receive statements from them so they charged me late fees and told me it was my fault because i should have known to pay it even if they didn't send a bill.  

I called to close account and pay in full so that i would never have to deal with them again.  Was told it was paid in full.  I specifically said to her, "I do not want to receive a bill next month for interest, this will pay the account in full, correct?"  She said it would pay it in full and that i would not get another bill for interest.  3 months later, i get a bill for interest and late fees for not having paid the interest.  

Now it appears on my credit report (reported to all 3 credit companies) that 4 months after the account was closed and paid in full, there was suddenly a $26 balance which became 160 days overdue.  Just like multiple other complaints on this board, this is affecting my credit rating, interest rates and ability to refinance home.  

Apparently this is standard operating procedure for them.  

They've got some cute clothing and that $15 discount on a $100 purchase is so tempting but shopping and opening an account with this company is the worst thing you can ever do to your credit rating and level of frustration.  I wish someone had warned me before I did.
