Software Empire Unresponsive. May be a rip-off site and/or e-commerce data theft site Internet

Software Empire portrays itself as a vendor of downloadable Windows OS software. I purchased and downloaded a copy of Windows 7, and received an activation key. When it turned out that I did not need to install the software, I tried to contact them for a refund. Phone is the only means of contact offered. I called several times and left messages, but got no return calls. I later was in contact with another customer whose bank account was compromised shortly after a purchase from this same company. Curiously, I just received a similar notice from my own bank indicating that MY account may have been fraudulently accessed. Hard to say if the two are related, but their total lack of customer service makes me suspicious.

I also searched another database who indicate that this outfit is operating through a web service in Canada, but their true identity/location is masked. Again, this is not proof of guilt by itself but it certainly adds to the shady appearance of this company. I would urge any potential customers to think twice before doing business with this outfit.
