Took car in to get battery changed. They handed the key back like everything was ok and when tried to start the car it would not start. It turned out they touched other parts that they did not need to touch and messed up the car. It was a sunday and could not get it to anywhere else so the car was left at walmart overnight. They stated they just needed to get a part from the dealer and they could have it fixed in the morning.
When i went to walmart the car was not fixed and they did not even have the part. Ended up waiting there for three hours until they finally admit they did not know what was wrong and had to tow it to the dealership. After getting it to a dealer, it turned out they messed up the starter. Was only supposed to pay for a new battery, ended up paying for a battery, towing, dealership fixing starter, and a rental. Now walmart will not pay for what they messed up and is saying it is not their fault.
additional story of a different person and different walmart:
Took car to get simple oil change. They drained car of oil and did not add any new oil.

As a former TLE tech and a former US Army Mechanic, I really do not understand what they could have possibly touched wrong too make the car not start, something sounds a little fishy to me as well as the "we have to order a part" Wal mart does not order nor repair vehicles. They replace/fix tires, oil change, fuel system clean, replace batteries and battery leads. So this story really makes no sense. Even if you were to arch the battery that will not cause a starter malfunction, now improper "jump starting" can cause electrical issues.

I used to work for a supercenter. I got to see some of the tire/lube express folks in action. The ones hired for the department are all experienced mechanics. Here's the problem. ANYONE can transfer into the department. To give you an example, one of the ladies in deli didn't get along with one of the others. They transfered her, with no experience at all, into tire/lube. She later ceased an engine, not sure of the details, but wally world had to buy the person a new car, and she was fired. Not exactly fair, concidering she never wanted to work in the tire/lube to start with. Keep on the manager, he/she will get it worked out for you.
