I went to Walmart on 1175 S Arizona Ave on Saturday, Sept 2, 2023 at around 7:30. I went to the self checkout and bought a T-shirt that ran up to a little over $10 when tax was added. I paid with a $20, and then right before I was able to get my change, the self checkout machine malfunctions.
The employee at the self checkout kept saying that the manager was coming. I waited a long time and the manager never came to get my change. Then I suddenly got the sneaking suspicion that one of the employees was calling the cops on me. So after waiting about 10 or so minutes, I left. Something similar happened to me at Bashas a few years ago. Something was stolen from me, and the cops were called on me. They told me to leave.
I thought about going to the customer service, but they usually give me the run around on issues like this. I made a complaint to the corporate website.

Now, for denying Walmart the opportunity to resolve this you've paid almost $10. Sounds fair.

It doesn’t sound like you have any evidence they actually called the cops. But even if they did, the right move would be to stay and defend yourself. Running away just makes you look guilty. You deprived them of the opportunity to fix the problem.
