Lancaster Walmart loss prevention. Out of control!

Our family and large extended family have lived in in the Antelope Valley, California and have shopped at the local Walmarts and other stores for 30+ years.
We spend tens of thousands of dollars a year with a majority of our shopping at Walmart. In recent years, there has been a huge issue with crime. Now, many items in Walmart are under lock and key. We have seen criminals run out of Walmart with bicycles and get away with it.
Understandably, Walmart needed to step up security.

 
However,
 
My daughter and her boyfriend were shopping at the Valley Central Way Walmart on November 15th 2024 at approximately 8 PM. They were at checkout preparing to pay for items. When they were approached by two security personnel. One of them (Wayne) accused my daughter’s boyfriend of stealing a pair of sunglasses that he had on his head. One of the glasses was his prescription reading glasses. He told them that he purchased them the day before he has a receipt and the original box that it came in. Several unkind words from the security personnel to the point where loss prevention person (Wayne) offered to step out of camera to fight over it.
 
My daughter was very upset when she had done nothing wrong, they opened her bag without permission to search for stolen items. Nothing was found and no apologies given. They forced my daughter and her boyfriend to leave the store with no apology, wouldn’t allow them to pay for and take their purchases , only a false accusation. No proof whatsoever of any wrongdoing..
 
This particular location located on Valley Central Way in Lancaster has gotten completely out of control with homeless people in front of the store and making it very uncomfortable for regular customers.
 
Needless to say, our entire family will not shop at this Walmart location ever again.
 
We hope this gets in front of the eyes of Management at this location and corporate. They need to to rethink policy on approaching people with the guilty until proven innocent arrogant attitude.
 
Description of loss prevention person.
 
Wayne- Plain clothes Male, 5’10” , 200 lbs or so, mid thirties, grey hoodie. Glasses.
 
This guy shouldn’t be used for nightclub security.
 
This post will be listed on every government consumer and social media website to alert everyone on how this situation was handled. Walmart needs to make some changes or they will lose business. Target was never an option for our family, now it is.
