General Steel In the STEAL business, not the STEEL business, fraud, high pressure tactics Lakewood Colorado

My story rings true with the others found here. I too am having my deposit held hostage by General Steel. I sent in a deposit based on false information given by the salesperson over the phone. I was referred to the engineering department to see if a side door could be added and I was told it could for only an additional cost of $700, for a portal frame. I was told that there was only one more building left at this price so I needed to act now to get in on it.

The next phone call I received was from the project manager, Michael Gold, he told me that I couldn't have the side door; that the building I purchased wouldn't support that arrangement. He called back then saying that I could in fact add the side door but the quote added an additional $14,000 to the cost.

He referred me to a supervisor, Jonah Goldman, who agreed to do the modification at no charge, but I would still have to pay for the extra parts needed totaling around $4,000. I told Mr. Goldman that I just wanted my deposit back, and he said, "That's not an option." Everything I was told turned out to be false; just clever salesmanship to get money. Do not fall for it!!
