Today I received a collections letter in the mail from the company Apex for a debt to  Home Business Secrets.  They said that I owed them 139.87 for not canceling after my 14 day trial period.  I have never heard of either company before, nor have I even ordered anything from Home Business Secrets.  We called Apex to find out more information and while we were on hold - for 15 min. I got on-line to see if I could find out anything about them.  They were no where to be found except on this site.  I'm thankful that I found this out before we spoke to them service person.  She said that Apex is only a collection agency and that they had already paid Home Business Secrets for the account and were now trying to collect it because my CC was declined.  In the letter they state that if we do not send them the money they will be forced to involve a 3rd party collections - what are they then???  Anyway, we told her that this was bogus and fraud and that we had no intention of paying it.  She said that they would then have to forward this to our credit report.  We told her that if they do that then we will be coming after them because this is not our bill.

I then called our CC company and informed them about it.  There has be no activity to date that is unusual on that account.  I watch it carefully.  I discontinued that CC and have been issued a new one so that there can be no access to it.  The letter even had the last 4 digits of my CC number on it and she knew my email address.  It's scary the lengths people will go to these days for a buck.

I contacted the Better Business Bureau about Apex and they have no record of them as a legit business.
