I left AT&T on December 28, 2017. My account was paid in full on January 9,2018. ATT has not unlocked my four phones so I am unable to sell the phones that I legally own. I have spent over 15 hours talking with all departments at ATT. Each call I get a different response but they all agree my account is paid off. I hall lost $800 as I had a buyer for the phones but can’t sell a locked phone. Att has promised me this would be resolved and I have been promised a call from a manager but nothing happens. I have contacted American Express to dispute the charge of $558.38. I believe other consumers are facing similar problems. I have met my contractual obligation and ATT not. The lack of professionalism is shocking. Reps at ATT have suggested the only way to get a response is to complain on social media. Readily?! I don’t have a Twitter account and find this response shocking.

I mis-read the iPhones as 4 iPhone 4's, not just 4 iPhones.
But the rest of the comments stand.

I've seen NEW iPhones going for $200 and that was from people selling them as collectors items. For Used iPhones I was hard pressed to find any for sale for over $60. Yet you found some sucker to buy 4 phones for $200 each? Either you are not telling the full story or the buyer has an IQ less than dirt.
By the way there is no legal requirement that says you can't sell a "locked" phone, I've bought and sold locked phones several times without issues. As all that the "lock" is keeping it tied to a specific carrier. So anyone you sell it to could only use AT&T.
You have only given them 3 full business days to unlock the phone. It could take up to 7-10 days depending on the exact situation. Normally I would just say to be patient and if by then you still didn't have a code, then you may have a valid complaint. But the fact that you have now contacted AmEx to "dispute" the charge most likely made your position WORSE. As now you have given them justification to not unlock the phone because the payment on the account is now in dispute. BTW you will lose that dispute because you did authorize it and it was owed. You paying your bill was not contingent on them unlocking the phone. That is even if they didn't unlock the phone you are still legally required to pay the bill per your agreement. If for some reason your dispute is approved you may run into more issues with AT&T.
Good Luck
