*Consumer Comment: JP MORGAN CHASE HAS $11 BILLION IN 'SECRET LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES' ON ITS CURRENT & FORMER EMPLOYEES......
*Consumer Comment: Very frustrating, isn't it?
After quickly noticing fraudulent charges, I called Chase about the charge. They said "The charges are still pending, call back tomorrow." I thought really? My bank account is empty and call back tomorrow? The charges were to Walmart.com. Next I called them, they cancelled the order and froze the sale. After that I called Chase back wanting to freeze the card, and they couldn't understand why. I did my police report, but seems only Walmart was the only one to do anything about it.

according to information available on the web.
Anyone can stay at this site and type in 411913 and read Ripoff Report #411913 for proof.
Then 'Google' this- BANK EXECUTIVES PROFITING ON THE DEATH OF EMPLOYEES, and read the related articles. At least one article states that JP Morgan Chase has $11 Billion in these policies. (Bank of America and Wells Fargo each have $17 Billion.)
That's $45 Billion in 'secret life insurance policies' between those three banks, right?
WOW!!!

It's scary to see pending charges on your account and have the person on the other end of the line act like it's no big deal. I agree. I think it depends on who you speak to. One of the reasons Chase, and most banks, don't start point of sale disputes (POS dispute is when you see charges on a debit card) is because, very simply, the sale is not completed. When a merchant swipes your card at a location their computer is asks the bank to hold the amount of the sale and provide an authorization code. You leave the store with your merchandise and at the end of the evening the merchant, electronically sends in all sales. If the bank doesn't receive the actual settlement from the store, (think of the old days when the cards were put in that old fashioned card machine-where and imprint of a card was taken on a paper receipt. At the end of the day the merchant took all of those credit card manual receipts and deposited them like checks at their bank. If your receipt wasn't in there your account didn't get charged. Now all of this is done online) then the purchase was not complete and the, "pending" charge will drop off. Since we are in the electronic age most folks assume these things are done instantaneously when usually it can take on full business day, since most merchants settle their registers at the end of that business day. Have you ever purchased something and then went back to return it? Even if it's within a few minutes, the first sale will show pending (because the card was swiped and an authorization given) but within one business day (BUSINESS DAY- Mon-Fri) the charge will drop off once the merchant's settlement has been completed for that day and your charge and refund cancel each other out. I hope I made a little sense with regard to pending transactions.!! Good Luck!
