On 01/24/07 as I watched television I saw a commercial advertising for Cinergy Health Care company. I have been looking for medical Insurance as I am a retired 63 year old woman and am in need of medical Insurance.

I phone Cinergy and spoke with a man by the name of Robert, I advised him what I needed and what I was looking for. I advised Robert that I was looking for medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage. After explaining to Robert what I needed, he assured me that Cinergy Health was the thing for me. I asked Robert specifically if this was a health insurance plan and his response was YES!.

On 01/24/07 RObert also advised me that I would receive all of the pertinent documents and ID cards by the next Friday which was two days later. He also stated that the Medical Plan would be valid in 48 hours and I was given an ID #. Today is 02/06/07 and have yet to receive any documents and I have called twice. On the following Monday 01/31/07 My husband went to the local drugstore to fill a prescription for me and gave the pharmacist my new ID # for my New prescription coverage and to our surprise we were told by the pharmacist that there was no information in their system identifying that ID#.

My husband returned home with the news and I called and spoke to Joan at Cinergy on 02/01/07 and was told that what I had was nothing more than a discount rather than medical coverage. I advised Joan this is not what I was sold and that I want a refund immediatley. Joan advised me that she will call me back within 48 hours to finalize my refund.

Today is 02/06/07 and I have yet to receive a phone call from anyone. I called on 02/05/07 and spoke to John and was advised that he will call me back in 48 hours and I am still waiting out that 48 hours. I was told by Joan and John that they have no Idea why Roobert would tell me that number 1 it was a medical plan and 2 that I would receive paperwork in 2 days when their turnaround time was 7-10 business days. I want my refund immediately. $50.00 registration and $69.95 for the first month for a total of $119.95. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, Cinergy does offer creditable health insurance.

AUTHOR: Cinergy Health Management - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 29, 2009

In response to the last comment, I wanted to clarify for other viewers that Cinergy does offer creditable health insurance. When Cinergy Health began in 2004, we only offered discount medical plans. However, since then, Cinergy Health has become a licensed health and life insurance agency in all 50 states and D.C. and began offering limited medical health insurance plans in 2007.

Limited medical plans are health insurance plans designed with the intention of delivering meaningful and defined health insurance coverage at rates that are more affordable than those associated with major medical insurance. Limited medical plans are not major medical plans and are not sufficient coverage for catastrophic medical events. These plans also typically have lower caps on healthcare services such as the number of doctor visits or days in the hospital that qualify for coverage in a given year.

Our advertisements and our website are not meant to mislead anyone, but rather to inform people of the services and the coverages we offer. As stated in our advertisements, we do offer limited health insurance, and not a discount medical plan as some people incorrectly believe.

We welcome your questions, comments and input at info@cinergyhealth.com.

I just saw the television ad

AUTHOR: Alan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 14, 2009

For the first time I saw the Cinergy insurance ad on television. The ad clearly stated that this is health insurance. I was curious and checked the website only to learn that is simply a dime a dozen discount program. They indeed LIE this is a company to stay away from.

Cinergy Health/ Discount Plan

AUTHOR: Magbroker - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 31, 2008

Since I live day and day out in the insurance world as a health and life insurance broker representing over 100 companies I thought I woud post. The problem with above mentioned carriers and other ones very similiar is that, they know this is "discount insurance" as I call it, on their website, however they will word it in such a manner that to the uninformed public it looks just like major medical insurance.

Do I personally have conracts with cinergy and other carriers YES, however if this is all someone can afford or get approved for, I make sure that they understand this is not tradational maj med health insurance like with Aetna, Humana, Assurant, Golden Rule, World, or Blue Cross Blue Shield.

So please do your homework and make sure you understand what you are getting 110%, when buying any kind of insurance/investment product, you need someone with the heart of a teacher, not the heart of a saleperson.

I was a member before I was an employee!!!

AUTHOR: Rafael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 18, 2007

I am sorry you feel you were taken advantage of, but you are generalizing an entire company by the carelessness of one person. For your information I am a Type 2 Diabetic, unable to get medical insurance because of my "pre-existing condition". I priced Aetna, Humana as well as several other health insurance companies out there and found the prices ridiculous.

I too, as yourself, saw the ad on TV and called the company for information, the gentleman that called me explained in detail over the phone the telephone that it was a discount medical plan, not health insurance, he explained the discounts to me and was informative as well as courteous over the phone during our 20 minute conversation, in the end I was convinced that this was a great alternative to the impossible high cost of insurance and became a member with my wife and two children.

When my package didn't arrive within the 7 to 10 days I was clearly told it would take to get here, I called and upon verification of my address, found out it was mailed mistakenly to a different address. Not only did the company send me another package, they even pushed my billing date forward so that I would have time to test and inspect my benefits before my 30 day trial period was over.

For $99.95 a month I saved over 250.00 on my first visit to the doctor, not to mention that even if you add the cost of my membership, I still save over $100.00 a month in prescription. After being a member for over two months I was hired by Cinergy Health and for your information, it is a compnay that not only cares about its employees, but it also set a very high expectation on the quality of the services it provides its members.

So in conclusion, even if I wasn't an employee of Cinergy Health, I would still tell you that you are mistaken in your judgement of the company, and your remarks are very damaging to a company that I believe, among other things, really wants to help the 50 some million of americans that CAN NOT AFFORD medical/health insurance or cannot get it due to "pre-existing conditions".

And by the way my membership card reads...

I am sorry that you got lied to.

AUTHOR: Nikki - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 06, 2007

I am sorry you got lied to. Many discount plan companies are doing this to people.

If you do want real insurance, with all the coverage you listed, you may have to pay somewhere around $1000 per month (just guessing because I know it's about $700 per month if you are in your 40's) for you and your husband. It's not only $70. If you cannot afford the $1000 per month, the discount plan companies are really your only option (other than nothing).

If you decide to get real insurance, go online to the Florida Department of Financial Services and get the list of the health insurance companies governed by the laws of Florida. There are only about 4. Florida has very strict laws these companies are required to adhere to.

If this company is automatically debiting the funds from your bank account, go to your bank and do whatever you can to stop the auto debit.
