Citysearch Don't Sign Up For Citysearch! They are unethical and ignore your concerns! They are being Sued! West Hollywood California

If you're a small business, do yourself a favor and DON'T sign up to be listed on Citysearch! Certainly do not participate in their PPC program as they are currently being sued for unethical and deceptive business practices.

I signed up and listed my business with them several years ago. After experimenting with their pay-per-click program and not seeing any results, I choose not to participate any longer. My listing remained in their directory. Sometime afterwards, a competitor left a false and malicous review for me. Get this - because I was no longer a "paying member", I was not allowed to leave a response! I don't know of a single forum where you are not allowed to respond to negative reviews left, be them false or warrented.

I have contacted Citysearch no less than 50 times in the last two years and emailed them probably more than that. They do not respond and their representatives will simply hang up on you knowing that they can get away with it. It is unbelievable.

This review has cost me much business and I'm sure the competitor who left it knew precisely what they were doing. If you are a small business owner, do some googling before you sign up for Citysearch. You will be leaving yourself open to the attacks of your competition and if you choose to cut ties with Citysearch, they will keep the negative reviews for all to see and ignore you when you attempt to respond. It's not worth it and why would you want to do business with that type of company anyway?

If anyone else has experienced a similar problem, please let me know. This could make for an interesting class action suit. Yes, I know, the whole "free speach" thing, however, this goes way beyond that. I was not allowed free speach and completely shut out. This is unfair and I'm sure highly arguable in a court of law.
