My husband and I have been banking with First Convenience Bank for a year now. We're very displeased with the lack of convenience that we've experienced over the last 5 days with this bank.

My husband and I are very responsible with our money and have never over drafted on our account; Not just our account with this bank but any account, ever. On Sunday, July 7, 2013 I happened to check my balance while driving through Grandbury, Texas and noticed that our account was over drawn by nearly $500. I immediately drove to the local WalMart where this bank is located to see what the issue was. Apparently a payment that was supposed to go through on the 27th of June hasn't gone through our account until the 1st of July. Without noticing this error, my husband and I continued to swipe our cards 14 different times, being charged an over draft fee each time we swiped.
I immediately took out the fresh start loan to temporarily fix this problem until I could get to my regular bank the next day in Haltom City, Texas. Once I was able to get to my regular bank I asked the manager there why we didn't receive a call informing us of unusual activity on our account, as a good bank would do. The manager at my regular branch informed me that they did not have my phone number on file. Not only did my husband and I both give our phone numbers at the time of opening our account but I also received a call on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from a representative of First Convenience Bank informing me that our account had been over drawn for 5 days.
Why would our bank allow us to continuously rack up over draft charges for 5 days before giving us a curtsy call? My husband and I are outraged that the district manager at our bank is only willing to reverse $80 of the over draft charges. This is a ridiculous amount of money to have to pay our bank due to an accident on our part, and a lack of curtsy on the banks part.
As soon as we repay the bank for the fresh start loan amount we will be closing our account and banking elsewhere with a bank that will take more of an interest in their loyal customers and will own up to their mistakes if one was ever to be made with our account, and who certainly won't punish it's customers for that mistake.
