Okay, where to begin. One of our bridesmaids had the hardest time placing her order which help up the order date. She tried emailing the order, faxing the order and finally called the order in. After she finally placed the order, my fiancee called to confirm that they had everything they needed to place the order. They said yes. 

Come the middle of August, we still hadn't received dresses and our wedding is September 19. My finacee starts calling along with a few of her bridesmaids trying to see where the dresses are. For some reason they came up flagged and they put a rush on it. The dresses came in a week and a half later, however, there were only 4 dresses, not 5. The dress for the bridesmaid that had the biggest issue ordering was not there. They had no record of it being ordered nor her existing for that matter.

Unfortunately, she never received any confirmation and after looking at credit card statements, noticed that she was never charged. Rather than owning up to the mistake or at least helping to provide a solution House of Bums said that without proof they are willing to do nothing. We keep trying to call and send emails, but no one will respond. Knowing that even a rush order dress takes 6-8 weeks with only 3.5 till the wedding, we went to Volles to buy a sample dress at nearly double the cost (to be honest, we should have just bought all of them here). 

But that isn't the end of the story. The matron of honor's dress was shipped to her house as she lives in Houston. She recently moved there from St. Louis, so we called in her new address before they were shipped. She still has not received the dress even though another bridesmaid already received hers in New York last week. 

Do not go here ever. Save yourself the time and frustration. I can't express this enough!

And to any employee, manager, or owner of House of Brides. If you are reading this, contact me immediately. I need to find the dress and ideally you would send my fiancee a heartfelt apology for all the stress and anger that you are putting her through. Refunding the money for the dresses would also be a step in the right direction in convincing me to amend this post and every other post that I put up. But if you continue in this matter in ignoring are calls and not replying to emails, I will be sending letters to the BBB and every news network in Chicago describing the criminal operation you people are running.

On October 1, 2013, I replied to the email address provided by House of Brides in their rebuttal of my original complaint here on Ripoff Report. The email stated:

Good afternoon,

I placed a complaint on the website Ripoff Report concerning major issues that my wife had the past few months with the Glen Ellyn location. A rebuttal was posted requesting that I email this address with the bride's name and bridesmaid's name. You can view my full complaint here:

My wife (Bride's Name) and I ran into major issues concerning the bridesmaids dresses for our wedding. We had a total of five dresses ordered but only four finally arrived about 4 weeks before our wedding. The dress for our bridesmaid, (Bridesmaid's Name), apparently was never ordered and even though she emailed, faxed and finally called in her dress order and my wife confirmed with HOB that they had everything they needed for all five dresses before they were ordered, HOB has no record of (Bridesmaid) even existing on our order. The Glen Ellyn location provided no apology or even any attempt to help remedy the issue. Already stressed with the looming wedding, we ultimately went to Volle's in Lake Zurich and spent way more for a sample dress of the same designer than we had on our original dresses as an undesired solution to the issue. 

To be frank, I'm appalled at how HOB handles business and will be sure to express my ill feelings about HOB with everyone I know. You can count on me making it a mission of mine to ensure that HOB does not receive anymore business. With that said, I would highly recommend doing something to improve my current opinion of your business, otherwise I will be sure to add a displeased follow up to my existing post on Ripoff Report and other reviews I have posted including Yelp, The Knot and Wedding Wire.

It is now four weeks later and I have yet to receive a response from them. I continue to urge everyone who is planning a wedding to avoid House of Brides at all cost!
