Well, ipage was my first hosting solution and to be honest it didn't solve any problems, it only created some where none existed in the first place.

This is what they did to me in a nutshell:
1.) They scripted pop-up ads from akamaihd.net on my website's links without my knowledge or consent that would occasionally pop up while visitors were clicking my links. It happened to me twice in a row while I was testing the site so I got in touch with them. I demanded to know what it was supposed to be with a screenshot attached.

They first tried to blame it on me saying I must have scripted that pop-up, I should check my code. What a nerve, really. Then they said it was my pc and/or browser. Again, I emptied my browser caches and the problem remained, not to mention that Akamai is one of their affiliate products as you can see on their website and the pop-ups were clearly from Akamai.

Conclusion: I was scammed and I wanted to get out and get my money back as per the "100% Money-back Guarantee" they are so proud of. At that point I didn't know that I was in for some more unpleasant surprises.

2.) The money back-guarantee is not a 100%. You can consider yourself lucky if you get anything back at all. A free domain name registration ($15) is automatically deducted from the refund whether you ever used such a product or not; I personally didn't and it wasn't noted on my billing central tab, either. But little difference did it make. I paid full price for all my domain names, too. You'll also be sorry to hear that they don't refund taxes, either.

The bottom line is: I had bought a one year basic hosting package and after I tried to cancel my subscription after six months I wasn't refunded anything. Yes, that's right. They said that because of taxes and the free domain name registration I don't get a refund at all. So much for their non-exisiting 100% money-back guarantee.

3.) The fact that their servers are incredibly slow, and I really mean it, it's so slow you'll doze off waiting for server reponses doesn't help either, not to mention that they don't support cron jobs.

All in all, don't go down the same path I did; don't choose ipage. Whatever their marketing is, don't make your decision based on a Top Ten site like I did, check user reviews first. If you want real value for your money, then avoid this scam and stay away from Ipage. You've been warned.
