I posted this under Vending Dreams also. I want to make sure Jim Ellis gets all the publicity he deserves.

In Dec 2004 I signed a contract for them to locate 52 bulk candy machines. Paid $1300 up front then $1300 to be paid when job completed. They 'guaranteed' to replace lost locations within 2 years. They also guarantee gross revenue in first 12 mths will cover initial investment of machines ($12,495 in my case) or they will refund the difference. Seems like a no risk proposition, huh? Guarantees are only as good as the company behind it... and this company and owner Jim Ellis aren't worth crap!!!

First, the locating agent they sent placed machines without proper authorization. Some were simply left when no one was looking! He even went into a couple of businesses and placed my machines and walked out with a different machine that was already on the premises. Told the workers that the owner was putting in a new machine. That's right, he stole other machines!

Needless to say, I quickly lost several locations (12) in the first month. I've since lost 4 more. I've placed over 20 calls to Jim Ellis to ask for the locations to be replaced. He won't pick up the phone! Neither will anyone else. What a bunch of cowards. Heck, I only want new locations. The only person I reach is Steven Mills because he is in the 'sales dept' but he doesn't help. He has to pick up the phone because it may be a potential new sucker... I mean client.

You'd think they would be eager to get these quickly replaced so they don't have to make good on their revenue guarantee. HAHAHAHAHA! Like I said, a guarantee is only as good as the company that stands behind it. The people in this company hide. When/if it comes time to ask for a refund of the difference, I'm sure I'll have to retain an attorney.

Efforts to date: Faxed lost locations 1/18/05, 1/24/05 and 2/4/05 - I have to transmittal confirmations to prove it. 1/19/05 - 2/9/05 Numerous phone messages. Sometimes 2-3 per day. Finally, 2/9/05 Federal Trade Commission complaint and BBB complaint filed. Next step is the attorney general.

Jim, when you respond to this, don't call me a liar because I do have the proof - fax transmittals, cancelled checks, certified mail with return reciept and a signed contract. If you want to discuss it, call me

locations Why sign a contract

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 05, 2005

Why sign a contract?

Just go around to as many people that you know and pay them $50 for a location. I have the tools and Ellis you aren't getting a dime from me. I already let a lot of people know and I will be successful.

I am also sending a fax to the attorney generals office and for everyone that your company ripsoff then its called breach of contract. I know how all the locators play their game and I am a step ahead.

if your not giving the services necessary then your breach of contract

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 03, 2005

First off I asked for references a while back and I'm not going to waste too much of my time. You don't give me references but there are people on here that can give me input. About the bbb they will oppose your side b/c if your not giving the services necessary then your breach of contract.

If you did pull that stunt on me I would have an attorney hunt you down. Then you wouldn't get all the money b/c you would curse me out over the phone and on the answering machine where I would file harassment against your company. So please be careful what you wish for.

Vending locators, A lot of places don't like the machines but it depends how you approach people and different businesses

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 01, 2005

I am going to respond to this. I am locating machines on my own as well as networking. My name is Forman in the Philadelphia area and if this company tries to pull a fast one I will file slander against the company.

The contracts are all the same. If this company does what I think they do I would definitely get an attorney b/c they're not going with the contract. Thats called a breach of contract. If Ellis is doing something illegal I would call an attorney and fight back.

I have a scripture that I memorized and its so simple.

A lot of places don't like the machines but it depends how you approach people and different businesses.

If this site lets me bring up my email then I want to talk to anyone else.

What you could do is go to search and type in onesetprice. I'm Steve from Philadelphia and my email will show up. Feel free to contact me.

One other problem is that making that money back is going to be tougher if you know what I mean.

I was given this company by my coach and he heard that the company was decent but when you look further then thats what the problem is.

Proof Jim Ellis is a liar!!!

AUTHOR: Edward - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 30, 2005

I started this post. Here is an email that I cut and pasted. It is from Jim Ellis (top email) and Susan Davis (bottom email. This is another example of how much of a scum sucking liar he is. Remember, his initial reply stated he had no customers in PA named Ed. Also, you should see the lying response he made to the BBB in response to my complaint... oh well, some people have no morals... Jim Ellis is one of those people. JIM, YOU ARE A LYING PIECE OF TRASH!!!

Ed, I was reviewing Susan's email to you but I need the following done before we can begin:

- Our Lost Location Sheet to be filled out properly (attached).
- I want your emotionally based, unfair, knee jerk posting on Tabloid Report.com to be removed.

Once again, there is 100% no way machines can be left when no one is looking if you followed out guidelines by meeting each and every decision maker... Oh, I'm sorry, contract requirements. There's a reason why I'm a member of the BBB, that's because I follow my contract and replace locations under these stipulations. There's a reason I'm still in business, I follow my contract and only replace locations when the customer follows the rules.

Before you get on your soap box understand you are dealing with the only locating company with a warranty department. Also, the only locating company where the warranty is more than a piece of toilet paper. Just like the contract you sign with anyone, there are consequences when either party fails to follow requirements.

I expect an apology to be issued on this file in ripoffreport.com as I have evidence you did not meet each decision maker. The evidence consists of your own words and interviews done with these businesses. If your ego is too over sized to accept responsibility for your own actions I can't help you any further. I would hope for the sake of your business you begin to act as a businessman and understand that vending requires work, dedication, and patience as gumball machines are no different than any other business. The failure rate is high because too many people are too lazy and impulsive to really be in business for their selves.

I have a successful route and two other successful businesses based around vending. Nothing came easy for me and my work load has been tremendous - just like I'm replying to you on a Sunday. But guess what, that's the reality of being an entrepreneur!

Ed,

For your area, and the amount of machines needing replacement locations I would have to say that we prefer to telemarket your warranty work. My telemarketing crew is the best, I you can expect to begin receiving locations within a week or less. We only speack to managers or owners, and ask how many employees, and if there are any other machines on site. We do not pressure the decision maker nor do we slam machines where they just don't belong. However, you will need to call the contact person to schedule an appointment to bring your machine in, and let me know the outcome of the "tour" within a week so that i may compensate my marketers. The concern you had with the missing machines unfortunately would have to be worked out with Mr. Ellis. I can start your marketing work Monday provided you let me know what charity you prefer to use.

I like for him to say it to my face b/c I have guts in me.

Let me say this I have a website out. I am also on switchboard. My initials are SF in the philadelphia area Thats all I'm saying. If you can find me I want to talk to Brenda and get some input.

POSTED: Monday, March 14, 2005

We are an unbelievably busy company. Appx 200-300 customer per week (I get the feeling we're doing something right) and a complaint % of 7 (can't please everyone). So getting back to you took longer than expected. However, really, at this point, would rather not accept you as a customer.

I have many great customers and a few "difficult" ones like any company. I wish you good luck but I was alarmed to see you spend your time posting on a tabloid board. It's unfortunate that you would react in such an extreme manner. We will gladly give references to anyone who can work with us in a professional manner.

I would appreciate more people posting new info below or filing a new Rip-off Report about your experiences.

I am going to get in touch with the media b/c its disgraceful that these companies get away with it.

I have coaching available to me and the coaching has been superb. I'm in the Phila region area so please email me back. If any professional locator contacts me you will be in for it.

STAY AWAY FROM "VENDING DREAMS"!!!!

AUTHOR: Brenda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 13, 2005

The name of the company should be vending NIGHTMARE!!!! I had worked for Jim Ellis a while back. I located machines. His way of thinking was.. Get the machines placed no matter what!

If we have to leave them at a location with no authorization then so be it! At least it was located! JIm is a GREEDY little b*****d. He is a SMOOTH talker and can, sell ice to a eskimo.

He does know the business but, it would be GREAT if he put that knowledge together legally! He is associated with the BBB.org. HOW?? He has only been in business for about a year now. It says on BBB report, he has been in business for about 3-4 years NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, see him lying to them too about his business.

I located machines for him and he still OWES me over $600.00!!!!!!!! He is a DIRT BAG! I quit working for him when people weren't happy about locations and he REFUSES!!!! To take customers calls!

So, BEWARE! When you have machines "placed" and you have a problem, JIM WILL NEVER EVER ANSWER YOUR CALLS GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM VENDING DREAMS!!! TAKE IT FROM AN INSIDER WHO KNOWS!!!!!!!!! IF YOU HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF BY THIS CON ARTIST, THEN FILE A REPORT WITH BBB.ORG, CONSUMER AFFAIRS, ATTORNEY GENERAL AND FTC.

PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE BUSINESS SOLEY TO RIP PEOPLE OFF NEED TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 12, 2005

I called on Thurs to get references. If I don't get any on Monday morning then I'm going to the other website.

I also know enough people that can tell me that I can try a certain place. By the early spring I hope to get at least 10 more machines and then start paying back what I put into.

There was another response within a certain topic that you said the machine was removed and another one into that place. I told someone that and they said BS. He said prove it. If it did happen then you go after the company for slander and other things.

The professional locators give vending a bad name and I'm going to talk to some one legal to see where this can be stopped.

Rmember once you sign the contract the company will side with the contract and thats what also I have a problem with. I dont fall for thieves.

Heres what I have to say

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 10, 2005

First off, to all the professional locators are useless.

As we all know they're independent contractors that for the most part want money from us the consumers. I looked into this for a couple of days. I was going to go for vendingdreams but its obvious that they don't want anything to do with references. I don't need to ask just come on here and find out other opinions from people. This business has its ups and downs. I've heard different kinds of excuses from different owners. If I had 3 more karate places and three more barber shops I would slowly start making that money back.

From what I'm getting the professional locating companies brain wash their employees or do something else. They will go back to what they claim on that contract. They all have the same connections in that field.

Another word is CONTRACT. Once you sign it you might as well forget about it. And then when you call the attorney they want money too. I'm not afraid to go into the sites b/c once the machine gets placed I can talk to people and be up front with them since I'm an owner and tell them like it is. Another thing is I have the Shriners charity and stories that I'm hearing about Shriners is amazing and its awesome of what the charity can do. My brother went with them and I don't exactly remember but it was a good feeling. Philadelphia region is a big area with different places. When I was working in the atm business I was in 75% PA, 85% New Jersey, Delaware 65%, Maryland 5%, New York City and State 15 - 35%. I know different places just by getting to them. I know where to go in Phila. Int'l airport. I was talking to another owner of the big machines for sodas and he stated the business has changed quite a bit.

You also have the ones who come out and state before you go into the business you might want to check things out in their books.

I have another friend/neighbor who was an ex cop and he amazed how much money a person can make on these machines if they are placed in decent spots. He has a friend who does business cards and getting awesome responses. I have another friend who knows people and if he does his homework right he can get me to these owners and I can really go successful.

I don't really want to bash any locating company but like I said once you ink that dotted line your screwed. I hope the ftc starts doing audits and want to see what they find.

Vending I'm not sending that contract back but there are other ways

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

Hey Matthew:

I'm not sending that contract back but there are other ways. I worked in the atm business for 3.5 yrs and places are starting to come back in my mind. Its timing and by getting there. I'm not calling them b/c they want to do the same thing everyone else does. I spoke to another vendor same machines I have and they went with APS. I did my research on them. Its simple and like your saying as soon as they get the money they don't give a d**n about anyone. This has to stop somewhere. I'm saving the contract. If only I could find a hacker and knock out their systems.

Second, I was reading about one of the locating companies and they told an owner of an establishment that the machine was being taken out and a new one going in due to the owner of the machine. Thats called SLANDER and all these creeps getting away with it.

The way I see it the more evidence the better.

ANd Matt I'm not sending the contract back at all.

I might call the news media and stick it up some of these companies. I like the machines that I have it just takes time placing them. I will be successful

Don't do it, Steve... don't sign with them. Stay away!

They are highly unethical. Stay away. Check out FTC.gov. for info on vending although you will find nothing specific on this company. Check out the Better Business Bureau - you'll find plenty of complaints. There is a reason for these complaints. Face it, where there is smoke, there is fire!

Think about this, if they are not cooperative now, how cooperative do you think they'll be AFTER they get your money??????

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Edward, I'm a little confused here...

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 13, 2005

Edward, I'm confused about how this is possible:

How can machines go into unauthorized locations where they are just thrown in???? I don't get it since our contract - in section IV absolutely requires you meet each and every decision maker before the locator leaves (or you don't pay). This is confusing since it would invalidate your warranty as specified in the contract - I included a sample at the end of this email.

This perplexes me... I know that if you are a customer and followed the rules of the contract/warranty that would be an impossibility. Also, please provide your area code and actual information to our email as I can't address people who hide behind gossip oriented websites. I don't talk to ghosts, cowards, or frauds. Provide your actual info and I'm sure, if you are a customer, you can be found. Note that we log all calls that come in and to this date I have had no complaints regarding an issue in PA. The BBB requires you to make a legitiment complaint and provide documentation to backup your claim. They will not help you if you don't provide this or if you appear negligent in managing your business (for example, not following your contract)..

I. 4. Company retains sole right to reject unsatisfactory locations. Company is under no obligation to accept, sign or pay for any such location(s). Locator agrees to replace any such location(s). Locator also agrees to guarantee locations for two years free of charge provided:
a. Company tours each and every location making contact with a decision maker or an authorized contact
b. Company signs off on each approved location only after successful tour and meeting of decision makers
c. Company only funds the locating representative the final payment when all locations have been toured , all decision makers or approved representatives from locations have been met and company pages Vending Dreams Quality Control Office at 888-569-1147 x88 (numeric pager). Once a page is initiated Vending Dreams will respond within 10-25 minutes and perform a final review with Company and locating rep. Vending Dreams will determine if all requirements have been met before final funds are released.
d. Company provides the contact, phone number, and reason a location was lost in writing via Vending Dreams Lost Location Sheet (provided by Vending Dreams) within seven days of incident
