Kohl's Kolhs - Late Fee Rip Off- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
*Consumer Comment: You are not a special snowflake.
*Consumer Comment: So what's your point?
I have been a loyal Kohl's Customer for 20 years. I have had and used Kohl's Store Credit Card since 1989...I got the card when the store first opened.
In 20 years I have NEVER been late with even one payment to Kohl's. Well, last month I was late for the very first time...just 2 days late. They charged me $36! The entire bill was only $50!
Kohl's charged me more than 50% of the bill value in lates fees because I was 2 days late with one payment in 20 years!!!
I like their merchandise and their prices, but NEVER BE LATE WITH A PAYMENT TO KOHL'S!!! They will charge you up the Yin Yang.

So what? No one cares that you've had your credit card for two decades.
Everyone, despite how long they've been a customer, should be treated the same. Waiving your late fee and not someone's late fee who's only been a customer for a short time is basically like saying "Well, we don't value you as much as this other person."
You are not special. You admitted fault. Now pay for your mistake.

I have a credit card that I have paid on time for 22 years. If I send my payment in 2 days late next month, they will charge me the $35 late fee that they said would be charged if I was late.
You might try calling their credit services provider and see if you can get a one-time waiver of the late fee. Some organizations will do that if you have a long record of on time payments, but you have to ask for it.
