We bought two 110cc atvs from Legion Global in March of 2007 for birthday presents for our sons. On the day of the party one of the tires froze up on one of them causing one of the children to fly off. My husband checked the tire, and the wheel bearings where not seated properly.

Then a couple of days later we were looking at them a little closer to see if anything else was wrong. We found that the tie-rods were loose, and nothing was torqued right. Plus one of them would not start. So we called Legion Global and they said that they would look them over.

So we got them back within a week. About a month later a screw came loose on the rear brake caliper one one of the machines. So when the brake was applied the whole caliper pivoted up off the rotor. Then two weeks after that I was across the street from our house in an empty Church parking lot.

The two boys were on their four wheelers and I was on our Polaris. We were getting ready to cross the street together. When I noticed my son on his four wheeler come flying across the parking lot and I yelled at him to stop. He just looked at me terrified and kept going. We have the throttle limit switch governed down to about 10-15mph, but he had to have been doing about 30mph or better when he passed me.

He went flying into the street, and hit the curb into the neighbors driveway causing the machine to flip over twice. The child has numerous scratches and bruises. The machine is totaled. After inspection of the machine the cause seems to be that the throttle cable and nut on the carburator vibrated loose and come off, to cause full fuel flow into the carburator causing the machine to accelerate rapidly.

Legion Globals response is we will supply the parts you pay the labor and it is only three months into a six month warrenty. Not even bothering to ask if the child was alright. Also, they said its the parents resposibilty to check every nut and screw on the machine.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Why didn't the governor work?

AUTHOR: Murks Your Heroes - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 14, 2007

I would like to ask the employee with bad spelling/grammar skills why the governor didn't work. Didn't you read that part? Doesn't the fact that the consumer knew about the governor, and had obviously set it tell you that they know about the safety features and weren't being negligent like you made them out to be. Does coming on here and berating your own customers who fill your pockets look professional? Do you think that will create referral or repeat business for you? Why are you so defensive all the time Legion Global? Is there really a need to address a customer in that manner? In your other posts you say "just give us a call, we'll help you out", why aren't you that friendly on the internet?

Oh, and did you read ANY of this part from the consumers original post???

"We bought two 110cc atvs from Legion Global in March of 2007 for birthday presents for our sons. On the day of the party one of the tires froze up on one of them causing one of the children to fly off. My husband checked the tire, and the wheel bearings where not seated properly.

I would like to know what you meant by the word "outter" in your reference to parts falling off. I have no idea of what that word means. I don't think it takes divine intervention to get a cheaply made Chinese ATV that has bad wheel bearings right out of the box. It's funny that you respond to this customer like you did and from the sound of it, they actually came into your little warehouse and personally dealt with you. Keep up the good work LG!

#1 UPDATE Employee

Respinse to injured childs complaint.

AUTHOR: Legion - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 02, 2007

All of the machines are designed with a safety kill switch just like a snowmobile, jet ski, waverunner, etc. to have a button or tether that if anything malfunctions that this kill switch would immediately stop the machine.

Why was this feature not showed to the child??????

The response to this is that IT WAS NOT SHOWN TO THE CHILD!

How do parts just simply fall off?????

The response to this is THEY DON'T!

This parent neglected to show their children how to appropriately ride the ATV and unless there was an act of some outter creation, The ATV is not designed to start it self with no human or electical device. Second point is that the units that the customer purchased came assembled with a remote kill/start option for circumstances that when a child is riding the ATV and they tend to get out of hand and do things that parents do not want their children doing, the remote will shut off the unit from 50 yards away. Now if the child passed her, why didnt she stop the child with the remote, or as stated before why didn't she show the child the safety feature. We can almost guarantee that the child would have not been hurt, nor the ATV would not be totaled.

Every customer is showed the safety feature upon purchasing the unit(s) from Legion Global. This would not have happened if the child was shown correctly!
