We bought our first mattress from Matress One back in October 07. This turned out to be a defective mattress, and holes developed on both sides of this Restonic mattress. The same truck driver that delivered our mattress eventually inspected and acknowledged the defect. We were told we'd be given credit at their store. The salesman at the orignal store in West Palm Beach was rude and clueless we took our business to another outlet in Pompano beach. We were upsold by a salesman in Pompano Beach who told us that he couldn't understand why we'd get a Restonic in the first place and for an additional $500 we were sold a Serta Euro top Firm mattress. The sign in the window said same day delivery which of course took one week, the free delivery that was also displayed costs us $59 because it was an exchange. After a week, the driver showed up at 9;00 in the evening after waiting all day and promising earlier delivery with the wrong mattress. It was not a Euro top Sealy but an ordinary Sealy and had spots on it. They left the mattress with us and the salesman the next day explained that Sealy had made an error when they shipped the mattresses they had ordered (you wonder about inventory control when 1. someone would accept the wrong mattress and 2. why would they load that on a truck. After another week of calls, etc. they brought the third mattress, this time it said Serta but only had a small tag on the side that indicated ETF-Eurotop Firm. The moment they brought it we noticed that as they were carrying into the house it folded in half, not a good sign for king size firm mattress. Then my wife immediately noticed that there was a indention on her side (mine seemed OK). After many calls again and requesting that they honor their so called 30 day satisfaction guarantee, they only said that they would have to inspect the mattress again before they could do anything. This process went on for about a week, until the day of the inspection when the driver was called up north and we were told after waiting all day that he would not be there until 10:00 pm to inspect it. This was totally unacceptable and at this writing we have not resolved this. I've called Serta directly and hope they would get involved and after leaving 3 messages they indicated that a rep that sold to Mattress One would call me. We'll see. This is the poorest example of customer service I have ever seen. Requests for the owners name have been lies, giving name and number of someone who is not there. This is beyond belief. When I asked one of the salesmen if he knew that the company he worked for was rated F by the Better Business Bureau of Florida, he only told me that it was a rip off because the BBB only wants money and if you don't join, you get chastized.
Nice huh?

I believe the customer ...dont believe the employee they have a really bad sense of customer service. Just be honest and know what you have in stock get a computer system or something, dont lead the customer around with lies while you keep that money in the bank gathering interest. Here is what happened to me:
We went in on a friday to purchase a cheap mattress that we saw in an ad. We purchased the mattress and agreed for delivery on Saturday afternoon. We received a call on Saturday afternoon from manager Eli who sold us the mattress that it wasnt in stock and that he can give us something similar?. I was like no just give me a refund please, Eli agreed. Come monday i call and leave a message asking if they have refunded the money yet because neither of the transaction have shown up.
I get a call back from what i believe to be a Jose asking me when they can deliver the mattress .....WTF i wanted a refund! i already purchased another mattress because you guys couldnt deliver on time and didnt have it in stock. So Jose agrees to do a refund. Nothing happens so i call back Thurs to Jose, jose tell me to call Eli, then Eli says that he cant do anything that Jose has to do it. So after that run around they said they fax the paper work to their corporate office.
I call again on friday, ONE WEEK after purchasing the mattress that was never delievered, they hang up on me twice and finally get an answer they said they sent the claim to the corporate office last night. I call the corporate office and she doesnt even have the invoice and tell me it will take 7-10 business days and has to call the store to get the invoice!!!!!! another run around
I dont understand why they just cannot do a simple refund!!!! They dont answer their phone anymore when i call.
This all happened at the new melbourne, fl store! GRAND OPENING more like GRAND SCAM!!!

This report is about 5% true and 95% lies. This customer Tim is upset at Mattress1One because he is trying to exchange his mattress for a third time and as per our policy which he read and signed he is only allowed one exchange. Customer even refused to pay the exchange redelivery fee that is clearly stated on the policy that they read and signed, instead chosing to make false claims about defects. This customer would have everybody in Mattress1One fired if it could help him to save $59. My advice to this site, if it wants to be a fair site, is to verify complaints before allowing them to post, because I can tell you first hand that this complaint is filled with lies and Mattress1One has bent over backwards for him but we will not lift another finger for him because he is extremely rude.

Just to keep all informed. I had filed a complaint with the FL Dept of Consumer Services on all of the above. Although they have responded and in the response told them that they would deliver a mattress to me when they got a replacement (it was found to be defective by one of their own inspectors), now they told me that unless I write a letter BEFORE they deliver a mattress saying that everything is satisfied, they will not exchange this mattress. They have my money, I have a defective mattress. This is beyond belief.
One correction to my initial story. The interim mattress that they delivered that was not the Euro Top was a Serta, not a Sealy as I mentioned. We are in the process of contacting Serta to see if they can put any pressure on these guys. I will be contacting an attorney and any consumer advocates that I can think of. I am sorry for the day I ever walked into this place.
