ON 6/22/2009 I TOOK MY CHEVY TAHOE TO PEP BOYS BECAUSE IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH. I TOLD THE SERVICE TECH LIONEL GARCIA THIS AND HE SAID THAT THEY WOULD CHECK THE VEHICLE AND RECOMENDED A TUNE UP. IAGREED TO HAVE THIS DONE. IT COSTABOUT$ 260.00. 2 DAYS AFTER PEPBOYS SERVICED MY TAHOE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT STATED RUNNING ROUGH AGAIN,BUT WORSE IT WAS MISSFIRING!

I TOOK MY TAHOE BACK TO PEP BOYS ON 2/24/2009 MARIO GARCIA THE SERVICE TECH I TALKED TO ON THIS DAY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK IT AGAIN BUT WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME$89.99 JUST TO CHECK IT!! AFTER THEY CHECKED IT THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO REPLACE MY SPARK PLUG WIRES. THIS COST ME $260.00 INCLUDING THE$89.99 FOR CHECKING IT AGAIN.

I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE FOUND THIS PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME TO GIVE ME THE OPTION OF GETTING A TUNE UP OR NOT. PEP BOYS SHOULD NOT CHARGE ME THE $89.99 SINCE THIS IS SOMTHING THEY MISSED THE FIRST TIME. THEY REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS THEY SHOULD HAVE NOTICED THE SPARK PLUG WIRES AT THIS TIME!!!!

Tony is leaving out a bit of the information here.

The information he is leaving out:

1. He was offered a diagnostic when he first brought in the vehicle, but he declined, and insisted it only needed a "tune-up". A standard tuneup, which is what he wanted only involved replacing the spark-plugs, topping off fluids, and a PM inspection.
2. He was advised that Pep Boys could not guarantee that replacing spark plugs would resolve his problem.
3. He was offered to have his spark plugs replaced at that time when it was noticed that the insulation on the wires was in poor consition, which he again declined.
4. He brought the vehicle back, requesting at this time that Pep Boys diagnose it for free because the problem had returned and gotten worse.
5. He finally agreed to pay for the diagnostic that he should have agreed to on the first visit.
6. Pep Boys ran the diagnostic, found a Random Misfire Code, and recommended replacing the wires, as well as several other maintenance items that were overdue including a throttle body/fuel injection cleaning. Customer only approved the wires.
7. Customer wants refund for a service that should have been performed on the first visit when it was initially recommend.
