I had a flight all set to get me home early in the evening on New Year's Eve after having visited my parents and family in order to celebrate with my fiancée and see some amazing Christmas lights before they got taken down the next day. On my way to the airport I saw that my flight was 15 minutes behind. Ok. No big deal. I got to the airport, said my goodbyes, got through security and sat on my butt for no less than 1 hour at the gate AFTER the time we were supposed to have taken off not boarded!
It was finally at this point that a timid man with an accent so thick you couldn't understand him announced that our flight was delayed. NO S***! We were already more than an hour behind and you hadn't notified me of ANYTHING! Horrible customer service!
Then in some half-assed bail-out tactic, you offer to put everyone on the next flight out, IN FOUR HOURS!!!! Unacceptable. What happens to everyone on that flight? Do not tell me you don't have more airplanes than that. Next, in another half-a*s attempt to abate me, you offer a $100 travel voucher! You've already completely runed my New Year's Eve and now your "fix" is to offer me a voucher that will require me to spend MORE money on you in the future and possibly expose myself to the delays and horrible customer service that awaits me? Uh-uh. Hell no.
You already can't make this right, you only get one New Years per year. What I will accept, however, is a full refund of my flight price and two free upgrades for any future flights I may choose to take with you.

You are Wrong...

Here is a hint for future postings. When you start making unreasonable claims people are going to put you into one of two categories. "Crackpot" or "Troll" and treat your report in the same manner. That is thanks for the nice laugh but not much else.
The fact is that if this is a real report. If spending New Years Even with your Fiance was so important you would not have taken a flight that would have you arrive in the evening of New Years Eve. Now, yes you are going to say "But I couldn't leave earlier". That is 100% FALSE. You had a choice and yes you could have made a choice to leave earlier. Yes it may not have been preferable, it may have caused other issues but if this was truly that important you would have found a way.
You didn't actually say what the delay was a result of. If it was weather there is NO way you are going to get any credit and the $100 voucher was actually extreamly generous. If by chance the delay was a result of them, again as I said inconvineient and I would even go as far as saying you may even be entitled to a refund of the fare for that leg of your trip. But there is no way that they are going to be held responsible for paying for your Honeymoon, or 4 or even 2 tickets.
Of course if you do truly believe that you are somehow entitled to everything you are requesting then sue them. When you do please post the court information here where we can all follow it.

What is the reason you think that you are entitled to anything?? Flights get cancelled, pushed back and delayed for many reasons. This time of the year travel is so high and there are many people wanting to get home. Grow up and get over it. Southwest is on of the best airlines in the industry and since you were able to post this report then you were able to get over your "boredom" and were not stuck in the snow, ice etc. Get over it. Things happen everyday that most people have to overcome so be grateful you had a flight to get home.

I'm afraid I was too lenient in my original request. As I sat here in the terminal watching my New Year's Eve slowly pass I realized that refunding my flight and providing me with upgrades is letting southwest off too easy. I now would like southwest to provide me with 4 free flights or pay for my upcoming honeymoon, since you caused me to not spend the night with my fiancée, in addition to my previous request for ruining my New Year's Eve by forcing me to sit in an airport terminal all night.

Your demands...

Your demands are ludacris to say the least. This CANNOT be your first flight. As such YOU KNOW circumstances such as weather and over crowding can and do happen and flights will be delayed. As such YOU may not have heard an annoncment meant for your flight. There were probably issues BEYOND the control of the company. Youre talking a difference of FOUR hours. I could understand if it was four days and you demanding what you have. Then that would be acceptable.
You DO NOT qualify for a full refund plus two tickets AND getting a free flight home. Your self important and self entitlment are the ONLY things that you will get to keep from all of this. Take what you can get and then move on. Making demands like yours will only get you LAUGHED at. WHY?? you might ask. Because, YOU ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT!!! You are ONE person, who is admittedly having a travel issue, but you are STILL only ONE person. EVEN if you told ten people, it still wont change their policies. People NEED to travel, as such it doesnt matter HOW MANY reviews you put up. They wont read them and if they do they wont agree that it could happen to them.
Unrealistic demands is a hallmark of the American Consumer. You KNOW that there are issues outside of their control. THEY cannot control the weather. And weather is the most COMMON reason flights get delayed. That being the case, dont you think you are demanding FAR too much out of a company that CANNOT control the weather?? No probably not. Your self entitlment will not ALLOW you to accept the fact that YOU are just one person and NOT worth THAT much money in free flights.
Maybe next time, try keeping your demands to a more realistic amount. What you are asking for is over a grand+ in FREE flights for being delayed by weather for FOUR hours. Not going to happen. And you NEED to realize and understand that YOU MEAN NOTHING to them. Certainly NOT over a grand in FREE FLIGHTS because of a delay.
You really need to get over yourself princess.
