Stoneberry False Advertising, SLOW, Deposit Required B4 Shipping Monroe Wisconsin

I have received numerous Stoneberry catalogs stating $500 Pre-Approval. A couple weeks before Christmas I broke my ankle which made shopping at the mall difficult, so I looked through their catalog and decided to order several items as gifts. I received an order confirmation right away but 5 days later order still had not shipped and no email from them as to why.  

Turns out Stoneberry requires a DEPOSIT before order is even shipped - you are NOT really pre-approved.  I do not have poor credit and this requirement astonished me, especially as they did not notify me immediately, but rather sent a letter via SNAIL mail - what kind of company spends money on postage nowadays when an email would suffice? I would never send money in advance to a company I have never dealt with. I cancelled my order and advised them to remove me from their mailing list.  Then I read many other complaints about Stoneberry online and I'm glad I cancelled.
