Booked a flight for my 13 yr old and me on Travelocity.com... Insurance was automatically added to our fees.  I could not remove the insurance but thats not the worse part.  I went ahead and booked the trip with the insurance and encountered a personal emergency with my 13 yr old that required us to get him home a day earlier than expected, at a cost of a $300 change fee. Well upon returning, they took my call and gave me an hour of paperwork to fill out and later refused the claim anyway. (because i ceased to take my son to a doctor-. Even id i did, he would have had to be on his death bed for travelocity to comply with the claim)

None of this fine print was presented to me when the insurance was magically added to my booking.  Even for the folks that may elect for this insurance, beware, because you only REALLY learn what is covered upon opening a claim. And its not what you would think.  In my opinion, the fact that this was selected for me (w/o the choice to remove) and the fact that they denied the claim, i consider this a scam.

- And what proof do you have that it was an emergency that was covered?  You didn't take him to the doctor.  It doesn't matter what insurance policy you have but when you make a claim, the insurance company is NOT going to just take your word for it.  If they did that, they would be out of business in a month.

So even if this "emergency" was a covered emergency(which usually just includes things such as medical issues, death of a close relative, or job loss) and you don't give them proof you aren't going to get a dime.

Of course if you do have proof and it is covered, then get a lawyer and sue them, with an open and shut case like that I am sure that you would find a lawyer who would take the case on contingency or heck may even do it for no cost for the publicity of taking down a huge company.
