We purchased a last minute ticket for 2 with hotel stay for a family member (shawn) with no credit card. Shawn got on the plane and was about to take off when 4 armed police officers took him off the airplane like a terrorist.

All they said that either Tracy (me) canceled the plane ticket (which I didn't) or the credit card company declined the transaction. By this time the plane had already taken off bags still on board, and still no reasonable explanation.

The police didnt really know what was going on except that they were told to take Shawn off the plane and question him on the purchase of the ticket. The officers contacted me at 6 in the morning and asked if I authorized the transaction, which I did and asked me a whole bunch of questions, and at the end he just said, "well the credit card didn't go through."

I called my bank and they said the money had gone through and they did not stop the payment. We contacted travelocity and after talking to 5 different people who could hardly speak english- they transfered us to the fraud department who said that they canceled the ticket because they said they tried to call my telephone number to verify and if wasn't in service, thats b.s. because the number that I gave them (double verified) was the same phone I was talking on now.

So travelocity said that since they canceled the ticket that they wouldn't charge me the $1000. But a couple days later I checked my bank account and they had charged me the $1000!

Immediately we called travelocity and they said that they had not had any records of charging me. how can i even begin to lie about having $1000 dollars taken out of my account?

I have the bank statement proving that they took it out. Now they are just communicating via email and we have only heard from them once stating that they are forwarding this to someone else (of course). So every thing that this company has done is unethical and unreasonable and causing a huge heart ache just a week before christmas.

We are now short $1000 for Christmas and cannot do anything until they refund our $1000 or at least a month when my bank said that they will start taking action if the company has not refunded me!!!

I do not believe one bit that travelocity tried to contact me or they made a sad attempt to do so... I have the police to verify that someone ordered shawn off the plane and the bank statement from my bank verifying they took the $1000. Everything adds up that this company sucks!!!

File a fraud affidavit with your bank. You are entitled to under banking regulations. The fraud report should be in writing. Be as detailed as possible. Get the form from your bank or search for a generic form online. After the bank receives the form, they should credit your account with a provisional credit in the amount of the disbuted charge so that you have use of those funds while they investigate. It is usually quicker if you file the fraud claim at your branch. They can fax the forms to the correct department and get things going faster. If you mail it make sure that it is to the correct department and address (probably listed somewhere in your account terms and conditions).
