Walmart Sold me a product that has no replacement parts Monroe Michigan
*UPDATE Employee: Ordering parts
*Consumer Comment: You wouldn't want to pay for the replacement part
*UPDATE Employee: And how exactly would walmart... stay behind the brand...
I purchased a portable DVD player from Walmart in June of 2007, It was a Durabrand model # PDV 705 serial #A70133318116. Around August 2008 the lid on it broke and I contacted the store to see if I could purchase a replacement lid and was told I was out of luck! I also contacted the walmart help desk on several times to report my problem and they could not come up with a solution. I have since found out that Durabrand went out of business in 2007. That's when I purchased the DVD player and Walmart should not have even sold this product if they weren't going to stand behind this brand.

Even if the company was still in business Wal-mart can't order a single part for that type of item. Wal-mart only has a 90 return,.. Look into items, brands before you buy!

On small and cheap electronics like that when there is a warranty issue they just replace it because the costs are nearly the same.
Let's say you spent $100 on that DVD player. The replacement part if they had one would be like $50-75.
When cheap stuff breaks you even jerry rig it or buy new. One of my daughter's portables broke in a similar way and I just figure out how to get it to work while broken.
And this has nothing to do with Wal-Mart. This is common sense.

Are they supposed to buy up a parts warehouse just in case its ever needed? The company went out of business! That has nothing to do with walmart! Blame the right people!
